Good afternoon everyone 🌅🌞😊🥵! It's been a minute since we've been able to open but we aren't out of the woods fully yet. It's hot and HUMID and miserable but at least the smoke cleared out. We are NOT RUNNING A FULL MENU TODAY. We have some injuries that slowed us down and will change how we operate today. Frank twisted wrong during prep and hurt his back so the heavy lifting falls to me which I blew my knee out on Sunday and am just coming back from that.

There is NO CHILI. The cheese sauce is thick and cheesy. We have fries cut, blanched and ready to be fried up to crispy deliciousness when ordered. Depending on how busy it is we may suspend GAR-PAR as they take up a basket for twice as long.

We are going to TRY this thing today. We will not be ready until 1PM as we feel the need for extra prep today and we still don't want to push ourselves too hard. There are underlying health concerns that kept us closed due to the smoke this week and if the air quality drastically drops we will close early. We appreciate your patience and support.

Unless the air miraculously clears up we will remain closed today. The photo attached is a collage showing the usual view from where I walk my pup to the view I've had for the last 3 days. Until the air quality improves we will not risk our health or yours to open. This is a huge inconvenience and we understand that; it hasn't been great for us either. We cannot breathe the air long enough to even do our morning prep so working is out of the question.

Until the air quality improves we will not put anyone's health and safety at risk to open. We apologize but thank you for your understanding. Due to the heat and air quality outside we are unsure at this time if we will be opening today. There are health concerns to take into account and so we will be judging what we feel safe with. The smoke from the wildfires raging across Ontario has arrived and coupled with extreme temperatures it is even more dangerous. We will let you know as soon as possible about our status for today.

Okay so here it is. I'm going to put it all out there since Sandy thinks we're ashamed of or hiding things. Our fish, chicken, onion rings, mushrooms, sausages, hot dogs, and jumbo dogs are all FROZEN AND NOT MADE IN HOUSE. We have never hidden that but she thinks its a secret. Our burgers are FRESH BEEF PICKED UP DAILY FROM DIPIETROS so yes we run out sometimes because we pick up what we guess we will need and sometimes we are wrong. Our chili is made fresh in house and is never the same because I measure with my heart and so it changes. Our cheese sauce is made fresh with only butter, flour, milk and cheddar. Our gravy is a powder that we simply mix into a slurry and add to a boiling pot of water. Our buns are from Azores Cambridge Bakery. Our fries are fresh cut daily from actual potatoes sourced locally. Our bacon is from dipietros as well. We offer cheddar or processed cheese. Our dill sauce and garlic aioli are made by Frank in house.

We have never claimed to be perfect and sure don't try to be. We will not tolerate being walked on or treated poorly. I'm mean and Frank's a jerk, we've said that since we started this business and have never hidden it. What you give us is what you receive. If you're rude I promise we will out rude you. If you treat us right we treat you right. My face is just stuck on RBF it is what it is. We are human just like you and we can't skip lines just because we have a business. If we have to wait because half of Cambridge is at Dipietros then I make sure to post that we will be late. If we sell out and have nothing to sell you then we close early and I post to let you know. We're blunt, honest and transparent about absolutely EVERYTHING that goes on or happens here.

Our customers are amazing but there's occasionally someone that needs to be told the customer isn't always right. Sometimes we fight like an old married couple but we aren't lol, that's just what we refer to as dinner and a show 😅🤦‍♀️. It gets HOT inside and we get cranky when we're trying to get through the long line and many orders to get a 5 minute break for air that isn't scorching our lungs. We are only 2 people; we do not have a staff so occasionally we need a breather. Have a wonderful evening.
