One year ago today, we quietly opened the doors to Bang Bang Banh Mi.
No grand opening.
No big celebration.
Just our family, a handful of friends, and a lot of hope.
But our story actually started long before that.
Ten years ago, we took over my husband’s family restaurant, Essence of Saigon Viet Bistro . Our kids grew up eating there, running around the restaurant, and watching us pour our hearts into every meal.
When I first started learning to cook, my biggest cheerleader wasn’t a food critic—it was my oldest son. He loved everything I made—even when I was still figuring it out. Looking back those moments gave me more confidence than he probably realized. The last slide is a little memory I’ll always treasure. ❤️
Nine years later, that confidence became Bang Bang Banh Mi.
To everyone who’s walked through our doors this past year, left a review, shared our posts, told a friend, or simply wished us well—thank you. You’ve helped turn a dream into something our family is incredibly proud of.
