We tried with the name Kildares to subtly tie in the pub with Spruce Meadows without having wagon wheels and hay bales dominating the décor. We picked Kildares for the county in Ireland where the National Stud horse farm resides. Located in Tully, the Irish National Stud is Kildare's pride. Covering 958 acres, much of the land is open to the public. Tours include Vintage crop, Danolie and the Irish Horse Museum. This is one of the top-rated tourist destinations in Kildare, and it will be enjoyed by everyone, whether they are interested in the equestrian field or not. This is a place to observe some of Ireland's finest horses. For golf fans the K Club is located in County Kildare, this is the club where the 2006 Ryder Cup was contested. At Kildares Ale House we have tried to introduce the new Irish pub, void of thousands of pictures you see at every other Irish pub around and a sea of similar mill work. We created a pub with three distinct areas with completely different finishes and used old architectural features such as a spider transom door dating back to 1880’s, chandeliers in our raised area recovered from a late Victorian mansion and our stone fireplace was built using full stones that were chiselled down by hand, an art that is almost dead with the introduction of stone veneers that are over used in today’s building trade. All three of our fireplaces will burn birch throughout the cold winter nights. Our entire south side windows fold open onto a warm south facing patio covered in cedar trellis overlooking the southern foothills. We look forward to seeing you at Kildares soon!!!
