East side of the Crossroads Market, 1235 26 Ave SE. Come in off Blackfoot Trail, look for the big red bus with the white stripe. You cannot miss it. People have tried.

Our fries have a hometown.

Every potato comes from the Springvale Hutterite Colony, about an hour south of the bus. Every morning we peel them, punch them through the cutter by hand, and fry them when you order — never before.

That's why they sometimes take a few minutes. That's also why they taste like potatoes.

Family size feeds a family. Or one very committed person.

Weekend forecast: 100% chance of burgers.

Fri, Sat, Sun · 10 am – 5 pm. Patio's open, grill's hot, fries are going in the basket as you read this. Saturday we will be closing a little early, family wedding to attend.

Pro tip from the regulars: the window is quietest between 2 and 3. The window is busiest at noon. Plan accordingly.

Long weekend? We're open Saturday and Sunday, closed Monday for Labour Day.

This is the bus in the early days — same red, same white stripe, same hand-painted menu board, fewer wrinkles on the owners.

Calgary looked a little different in 1995. Food trucks weren't a "scene" yet. There was just a family, a bus, and a stubborn idea that a burger should be big, fresh and made by hand.

That's the whole company. No franchise, no head office, no marketing department.

Mom and Dad opened Rocky's in 1995. We grew up in the back of this bus, and now we're the ones rolling the patties when we can help out.

9 ounces. Alberta beef. Rolled by hand this morning.

No frozen pucks. No press. No "smash." Just a big, honest burger cooked slow on the same grill it's been cooked on since '95 — with lettuce, tomato, pickles and onions on a soft bun.

Some people call it a meal. Some people call it a challenge. We just call it a burger.
