"We aren't simply adding another business to Kanata Plaza. We're creating reasons for people to gather, to linger, and to discover everything our community has to offer."

Behind the scenes, we have been hard at work... refining, reconsidering, and pouring intention into every corner of what UMAMI is becoming. The same warmth you know from Kanata Plaza, with a deeper sense of what this place was always meant to be.

More soon. We are glad you are here for it.

We are assembling a team of experienced hospitality professionals who understand that service is not a transaction — it is a practice. People who lead with care, move with quiet precision, and believe that every guest deserves to feel genuinely welcomed.

If that is the kind of work you do, we would like to hear from you. Reach out to us to learn about current opportunities at UMAMI.

The same care that goes into the dining room can travel with you. Every order will be packed with the same intention, the same ingredients, the same belief that a good meal deserves to arrive properly.

Takeout is not a compromise. It is the table, wherever you are.

UMAMI is opening soon in Kanata Plaza, on HWY 54.

We source our ingredients with intention. Knowing where our fish comes from, and honouring the water, the land, and the hands that brought it here.

Smeared sauces. Crossed chopsticks. A linen that did its best...

UMAMI exists at a meeting point. Pan-Asian culinary traditions (reverence for the land, patience with process, understanding that feeding someone is an act of care) resonate deeply with the values that have always shaped life on Six Nations.

We are a gathering of many: Asian flavours and techniques, Indigenous communal philosophy, and the countless other traditions carried here by the people who sit at our tables. A small reflection of what Canada, at its most honest, feels like.

We are on Six Nations. We are open to everyone. Come as you are.

Warm metals, woods, and soft linens make up UMAMI's material palette. Every surface was chosen the way we choose an ingredient: for what it carries, not just what it shows.
