We are a tiny community cafe based in Burnaby BC. Enjoy our quality coffee, matcha drinks, sweets, a We are a nano coffee roaster/cafe as well as a retail shop.

We carry tons of authentic, carefully selected zakka in our shop. Zakka is a Japanese term that means anything and everything small stuff that improves your life or home. Not typical coffee shop. Come visit us. Take out only.

Starting this Sunday, we’re releasing the first offering from our Spring/Summer seasonal menu.

A reinterpretation of a Japanese classic for North American favourites, this recipe was developed over an extended period by our lead barista .san , with a focus on balance, texture, and clarity in the cup.

We’re using a carefully developed dark roast from Cuba, roasted in-house to highlight depth and sweetness by .backporch ,paired with 3.8% grassfed whole milk for a structured, full-bodied mouthfeel and a clean, rounded finish.

This will be our first pop-up event of 2026 with Ben.
It’s our fourth Taste of Handworks together, and at this point, Ben is basically our resident chef. Since he’ll be moving to the Okanagan this summer and won’t be able to do pop-ups for a while, please come by and say hi!

One of my best friend Eric is as known as Owner of business Stackhouse steak sandwich. We had talked with this special one-day collaboration at Handworks is just designed from last stop at his store and we are really happy to work with you again as same team.

Eric, the former owner of Damso modern Korean restaurant has recently opened a new steak sandwich shop in downtown Vancouver. Through this collaboration, Handworks will be serving steak sandwiches for the first time ever.

Enjoy a unique fusion of Korean cuisine and North American influences inspired by Eric’s diverse career.

We’re excited to introduce a new brand as part of our “BC Local Roasters Selection”.

From Revelstoke, one of British Columbia’s most well-known snow resort towns, we’re thrilled to share another outstanding coffee roaster with you. We’re honored to now serve and retail coffee beans from lovingly and thoughtfully crafted by owners/master roasters Simon and Izzy.

We’d like to extend our deepest gratitude and respect to them for giving us this truly special and invaluable opportunity. Their beans will be available in-store starting January 24th, so we warmly invite you to come by and give them a try! *We will also grab them on our Pour-over coffee program soon!!

Happy New Year!!

And here it is our very first HWCS special of the year.
We’re excited to introduce one of our all-time favorite coffee shop from Hokkaido a place we love and visit often, located in the same region that our owner Tomomi comes from.

Thanks to the kindness of owner , we’re honored to be able to offer and sell Baristart coffee beans here in Canada.

This first shipment is extremely limited, but we’re hoping to make them available a few more times throughout the year.The beans will be available for retail purchase and served as our Sunday pour, so don’t miss out!

Releasing date will be updated shortly our post.

HWCS 3rd generation started from December 14th,2024 and now about to celebrate its first anniversary. Thanks to all of your continued support, we’ve been able to keep our business going strong.

Once again, thank you so much.

To commemorate our first year, we’ve created a limited run of HWCS-branded merch. Since T-shirts and bags are something everyone already makes, we wanted to try a slightly different idea- so we produced shoelaces featuring the HWCS logo made by MS.

We cannot thank enough for all the wisdom and help he provided throughout the production of this anniversary item. Once again, thank you so much Mark.
