The unofficial official home of the Brockville Winter Classic is closing its doors.
With that comes the end of an era filled with 24 years of memories, friendships, celebrations, and community connections that many people never have the opportunity to experience.
Dan has always been far more than business owner. Keystorm has been champions of community causes, supporters of local events, and people who understood the value of bringing others together. Their impact extends well beyond the walls of their establishment and can be felt throughout Brockville.
For the Brockville Winter Classic, this venue has served as the heartbeat of our event weekend. The Draft Party featuring NHL Alumni has long been our official kickoff, and throughout the weekend it has been a gathering place where players, volunteers, sponsors, alumni, and community members connect, share stories, and create lasting memories.
Dan's connection to the Winter Classic runs deep. Whether as a supporter, participant, community partner, or member of our extended hockey family, he has helped shape what our event has become. While we know our relationship with Dan will continue in whatever comes next, there is no denying that our community is losing something special.
Businesses that continually give back, support local initiatives, and invest in their community are rare. They deserve to be celebrated, supported, and appreciated. On occasions like this, we are reminded just how important they are to the fabric of our city.
From all of us at the Brockville Winter Classic, thank you, Dan and your entire team, for the memories, the support, the laughter, and the countless moments that helped make our event and our community stronger.
We wish you nothing but success in the next chapter, the Brockville Country Club is lucky to have you and Brockville is better because of what you built here.
End of an era. After 24 years, Keystorm Pub owner Dan Thompson says the downtown Brockville business will close its doors at the end of October.
