Cocoa West Chocolatier produces handcrafted truffles, gelato and hot chocolate using carefully selected organic ingredients. We serve the retail and wholesale market as well as corporate events and weddings. Our traditional European-style shophouse allows us to continually keep tight quality control and the production consistent, resulting in the highest quality chocolate without compromise. We believe in treating all of our stakeholders ethically and respectfully. Our Maitre Chocolatier has been perfecting her art of chocolate making for 10 years. She has been an instructor with Ecole Chocolat Professional School of Chocolate Arts teaching on-site chocolate Master classes. Her students have come all the way to Bowen Island from Chile, Bermuda, Dubai and Mexico just to name a few. After 19 wonderful years, the time has come for us to say goodbye to the Chocolate Suite, our little “Bed and Chocolate” boutique 💛

For nearly two decades, we had the privilege of being part of so many special moments: weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, romantic getaways, family celebrations, island adventures, and quiet escapes. Along the way, the Chocolate Suite was also featured in newspapers, travel publications, food and leisure websites, blogs, and countless social media posts.

We also made it through recessions, island snowstorms, and COVID-19. Through it all, the support of our guests and our community kept our doors open.

However, due to recent updates in British Columbia’s short-term rental regulations, the Chocolate Suite falls into a category that prevents us from obtaining the required STR registration to continue operating.

So, after 19 years, the sweetest suite on Bowen Island is closing its doors...

Above all, we want to say Thank You! Thank you for choosing us for your special moments, sharing your stories, writing wonderful reviews, and making the Chocolate Suite part of your lives.

While this chapter is ending, Cocoa West Chocolatier remains as vibrant as ever, and we look forward to welcoming you to the shop for many years to come! 🙂
