Yesterday was one of the hardest days we’ve ever experienced.
In just a matter of hours, something we built and poured our hearts into for 17 years was gone. The building was severely damaged and had to be demolished overnight. Waking up and seeing it all gone is heartbreaking and still very hard to process. We are honestly still in shock.
This place was never just a pizza shop to us. It was a second home. It was where friendships grew, where families came in week after week, where many first jobs began, and where so many memories were made over the years.
As an immigrant family, we never imagined that something we started years ago would grow into such a strong part of this community. What began as a small business became something so much bigger because of all of you. The support, loyalty, and kindness this community has shown us over the years is something we will carry with us forever.
Our hearts are also with the residents of the building and our neighbours who were affected. We are keeping them in our thoughts and hoping everyone stays safe and supported during such a difficult time.
Right now we are still trying to process everything and take it one moment at a time while we figure out what the next steps will be.
What we do know is how deeply grateful we are for this community. The messages, calls, and support we have already received mean more to us than we can truly express.
Here’s to the memories we made over the past 17 years. If you have any photos or memories, feel free to share them in the comments 🫶🏼
Thank you for being part of our story.
We may not be behind the counter for a little while, but you’ll still see us around the neighbourhood.
With gratitude and love,
Vesna, Iva, Lola, Family and Pizza Family ❤️
