I remember the day I saw 26 Victoria Street East for sale the summer of 2018. I owned The Coop, and thought this location would be a good move to have a downtown location. I contacted the agent and made an appointment to view the property. A few days later, the agent called to say the seller had changed his mind. Needless to say I was very disappointed. So I called the owner. I told him I want your building. After some hesitation, he said if you find the money, I’ll sell it. Within a week I had a mortgage in place and the sale closed in 30 days. And the rest is history. I am now 63 years old, with 45 years on the restaurant industry, with my first job at the Kave on Victoria St. West here in the town I was born and raised. I have had the privilege of serving this community, and continue to serve some of the same people since I was 18 years old. You have most likely seen that I have listed Willam’s for sale. I am ready to hang up my apron and retire. We will continue to be open and operating until we welcome a new owner. I am grateful for you all for your continuing support over the years. ❤️

My families presence and support throughout the year long renovation at 26 Victoria Street East was instrumental to this transformation of a bike/tattoo shop into William’s Restaurant. My daughters Paige and Dayle, with my grandson William hamming it up during our opening week. We opened on Paige’s birthday, September 12, 2019. ❤️

It seems unbelievable that we will be celebrating our 7 year anniversary on September 12th, 2026. I will have 45 years in the restaurant industry tucked under my belt. I started my career at the young age of 18, in downtown Alliston. With the dream of owning my own restaurant by the age of 30. I was a little bit late…opening The Coop in 2010. Than purchasing 26 Victoria St. East in 2018. With a year long renovation, with the help of some very special people, William’s opened in 2019. A true labor of love for me, I have lived and breathed this place. I am dreaming of retiring, however, until than, we are here. Working diligently to offer delicious food served in beautiful surroundings. Stay tuned for more memories and stories of the last few years.
