Presented by the Friends of Glengarry Trails Association, celebrating 27 years of caring for and connecting our community through the trails.

Explore. Connect. Celebrate.

Join us on Monday, September 7, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Alexandria Island Park for a full day of outdoor fun, community, and adventure.

And the list of activities keeps growing!

🏃 Take on the Free Radical Run — a huge inflatable obstacle course.

💦 DUNK THE MAYOR!
Step up to the Dunk Tank Challenge and take your best shot at dunking the Mayor of North Glengarry, along with participating councillors and candidates in the upcoming municipal election.

Think you’ve got the arm for it?

Balls are $2 each or 3 for $5, with all proceeds going directly to the Friends of Glengarry Trails Association to support our local trails.

⛳ Try your hand at mini-golf.

🌿 At 3:00 p.m., join Mary-Ann Hobe for a Wild Foraging Walk and discover some of the edible plants growing right here in our local area.

🚒 Meet members of the North Glengarry Fire Department.

🥾 And, of course, come discover the reason we’re all gathering in the first place: our beautiful Glengarry Trails.

Learn about the 15 km of volunteer-groomed and maintained trails that so many people have worked to build, protect, and enjoy.

And remember—however far you walk in, you still have to walk back! 😄

This is a day for families, neighbours, candidates, volunteers, trail lovers, and anyone who simply wants to come out and enjoy our community.

Bring the kids.
Bring your walking shoes.
Bring your best throwing arm.

🌸 Spring Ballroom Dance Classes Are Here! 💃🕺

Step into spring with elegance and rhythm! Join us for our Spring session of Ballroom Dancing at the Michel Depratto Hall, Glengarry Sports Palace (170 MacDonald Blvd, Alexandria) with Tom Manley.

Whether you're brand new to ballroom or returning to build on your skills, there is a class (or two) for you:

Lessons started this week in Alexandria for recreational ballroom dancing. There is still time to register and join the groups for dance lessons on Thursday evenings and/or Tuesday mornings. There are also group lessons this winter in Cornwall and Russell.

NEW! Tom is bringing dance lessons for couples to Alexandria, on Tuesday mornings starting Sept 30th, and on Thursday evenings starting Oct 2nd.

We are also starting a new season in Cornwall on Monday evenings starting Sept 22nd, and in Russell on Wednesday evenings starting Sept 24th.

We enjoyed our summer by dancing to live and recorded music at several venues, both inside and on the grass, at parks, vineyards, special events, and concerts. Would you like to dance for fun? That is easily achieved with lessons.

This is dancing for fun, no pressure, no competition, just a nice recreational activity, for couples and singles, teenagers and adults.

Are you pitching in to keep our community clean? In the last two weeks, Isabelle and Tom picked up road-side garbage to fill ten large garbage bags. That was only along 2 km of road going south from our house (both sides) (Delorme Cres, Kenyon Dam Road, Conc 1). Two of the bags were filled with kitchen trash dumped in the forest many years ago. We have yet to work along the road north of our house. As we return along the road, we find fresh stuff. It is hard to understand that folks can drink and eat in the car (lots of alcohol), but cannot take their empties home!

Lets keep North Glengarry looking beautiful!

Residents are invited to 'pitch-in' with community clean ups between April 28 and May 12. As of April 28, you can get your purple Pitch-In bags at the following locations:

After six years, including three years in Alexandria, the adventure of Tom's Pantry is now over. Please continue visiting the venue in Alexandria, Genesis Kitchen in the capable hands of Amy and Dan Willis.

The end of Tom's Pantry is bitter-sweet. On one hand, we loved the sense of purpose, preparing wonderful food for discerning customers, meeting great people, and receiving your generous appreciation. On the other hand, it was a lot of work, long days, and plenty of stress. The retirement is well earned.

I especially thank my spouse Isabelle Masson for her support and patience in my wild ambitions. She contributed incredible capital, time, creativity, and concern that were pivotal in the success of Tom's Pantry.

I extend our sincere appreciation to all our friends and customers, our capable and expert suppliers and service providers, our landlord, the municipal and economic development agencies that provided technical, marketing, and cash support. You are our cheerleaders who made it all possible and worthwhile.

Farewell, and I look forward to chatting with you when we cross paths again.

Après six ans, dont trois à Alexandria, l'aventure de Tom's Pantry est terminée. Continuez à visiter Genesis Kitchen à Alexandria, entre les mains expertes d'Amy et Dan Willis.

La fin de Tom's Pantry est un moment doux-amer. D'un côté, nous avons adoré le sens du devoir, préparer de délicieux aliments pour des clients exigeants, rencontrer des gens formidables et recevoir votre généreuse reconnaissance. De l'autre, ce fut beaucoup de travail, de longues journées et beaucoup de stress. Cette retraite est bien méritée.

Je remercie tout particulièrement mon épouse Isabelle Masson pour son soutien et sa patience face à mes ambitions les plus folles. Elle a apporté un capital, du temps, sa créativité et une implication incroyables, qui ont été essentiels au succès de Tom's Pantry.

Je tiens à exprimer ma sincère gratitude à tous nos amis et clients, à nos fournisseurs et prestataires de services compétents et experts, à notre propriétaire, ainsi qu'aux agences municipales et de développement économique qui ont apporté un soutien technique, marketing et financier. Vous êtes nos admirateurs et vous avez rendu tout cela possible et enrichissant.

Au revoir, et au plaisir de bavarder avec vous lorsque nos chemins se croiseront à nouveau.
