I have been trying to write this for a while now….. 🤔Tyler and I would like to thank and give Big hugs to all that Love Mangos as we do! When we bought Mangos, we were very excited to open, We saw how the community really loved the essence of this Iconic thatch roof building sitting on one of the sweetest spots in the world. Shortly after buying mangos, I was diagnosed with two separate long-term illnesses that unfortunately caused us to go back to Canada and USA to get treatment. It was simply too hard to run when we were away, so we closed. We returned with great enthusiasm. Opened Again. But, once again I was not able to continue with such a large establishment. We had put Mangos up for sale about 6 months after we purchased. It was a very hard decision for us to make.
In short, this iconic building and the land has sold but Mangos has not. Tyler and I still own Mangos and all its intellectual property including google site, websites, the logos, equipment down to the last plate.
Over the last two years we have received about 12 offers on Mangos, none that wanted it for a bar or a restaurant. We did not want Mangos to go away so we held on. The only offer we got was from a chef in San Pedro that wanted to give us a very small investment and had no real plan how to pay the rest, but then even his deal went away saying his investors bowed out. There was nothing more I wanted than to continue with Mangos in this building. My long-term goal is to do mangos on a smaller scale someday.
Just Some History. Since the beginning of Mangos there have only ever been three owners. Mangos was really first developed by Steve Bauer who brought Frank to work. Steve then sold it to Tom Hudson. Tom leased it out to numerous Chefs and Families over the years, bringing in so many different flavors. Then Tyler and I purchased from Tom Hudson in Nov 2023
I want to give such a heart felt thank you for all who supported us when we were here and more importantly when we weren’t… we know what that was usually like…… And I will say to the people who have a lot of opinions of all the should haves…….. Please walk a day in my shoes before you put ink to paper.
Over the next couple weeks Mangos will be getting all packed up and awaiting its new adventure.
But first we must party!!!
We are hosting a private party for the first owners of Mangos Steve today (Sunday 8th), it is a private party on invite only. However we have an insane amount of beautiful Ice cold Kegs to run dry and bottles to be emptied.... So we will be having our farewell party March 12th -15th
We will be taking pre orders for T-shirts that will be ready near the end of the month. T-shirts will be "Last Call @ Mangos" (times and info released soon), and we truly hope all that loved this place can attend. I know Mangos going forward will never be your mangos but maybe it will be a Mangos I can do !!!
