The Old Sugar Factory in Libertad Village.

The Corozal Sugar Factory began operating in 1937 in Pembroke Hall, Belize (present day Libertad Village).

Today the factory is abandoned, but delayed plans to repair it and add a new distillery for ethanol production have been underway since 2007.

Happy Friday from the New River Stop.
We currently remain closed due to the Big Ferry closing everynight for curfew at 7 PM.
The Ferry workers keep an eye on things around here at night when they are working.
We miss being open and serving you!
We are awaiting for curfew to end before we stock up the shop again.

Thanks to the Ministry of Works for working hard to get it up and running again fast!

This Sunday, May 26th if you're on your way to the big bash at Orchid Bay or Sarteneja...
Be sure to remember to stop at the New River Stop at the Big Ferry.
We will be open everyday and stay open later this weekend to make sure you got drinks and snacks on your way home.
We also have a really nice bathroom.
Be sure to stop and have a Hot Dog and a Beer or Coke!

The New River Stop would like to remind everybody that we will be open everyday this Easter Weekend. We are expecting lines at the Big Ferry, so don't forget, you don't need to wait with the driver. Walk across the ferry and have an ice cream, a cold beer, and a hot dog. You can even bring cold drinks for the driver on the other side.
Be safe and be patient this holiday season.
We have a nice clean bathroom if you need to use too.
This is the perfect place to stop on the way to the Big Party at Orchid Bay!
