An update from Jason & Antonette,
When we made the massive leap of faith last year to move our entire life and business from Palapye to Gaborone, setting up at The National Squash Centre (Court Five) was our launching pad. That space gave us a home, but we are officially closing our doors there. Thank you to everyone who made that chapter so special.
We have learned that business is ultimately about solving problems, and true survival means knowing when to make a pivot. As everyone knows, the economy right now is pretty tough on us all which has skyrocketed our operational costs. With our ingredient costs going through the roof, we had to make a plan, quick!! But before increasing prices and letting you carry those extra costs, we know we have to start by cutting down overheads, and that starts with this shop.
Those of you who have followed us from our early "GABS POP-UPS" from Palapye, to markets and events all around Gaborone, know that our hearts have always belonged to this style of business. So, we’re leaning all the way in: we are officially shifting away from a fixed location and transitioning to a 100% pop-up business model. It’s a leaner, more exciting, and a healthier way for us to keep things sustainable while bringing the experience straight to you.
What does this mean?
Our last day at Court Five is July 30th 2026, as we hit the road to expand our pop-up schedule partnering with your favorite local spots, and showing up at our local markets and events around Gaborone as usual.
We are so energized for this next chapter, and we want you to be a part of it. If you have suggestions for locations, or if you own a cool spot and want to see us set up shop there, let us know. We are fully open to collaborations! Drop your ideas or tag your favorite local spots in the comments below.
Thank you for riding with us through every single season, the best is truly yet to come.
With love,
Jasonette
