RÓKA X BREAD BAZAR

We are launching a new collab on AUGUST 1st 🎉

Every weekend of august you will find gelato served in a mini Pompe-à-huile (“vegan brioche”) ánd Pain-au-chocolat-gelato Mieke Vandensande. At the same time, BREAD BAZAR BXL will be serving Róka’s gelato in a delishiously fresh croissant.

Two stops to go and find the best mix between artisanal pastries and gelato.

Dear all,

Please know that I did not make this decision lightly.

Due to the accumulating heat inside our shop (not only because of the hot air outside, but also the machinery that heats up the place) it is just not a safe environment to work in the heat that is to come.

I am very sorry, because I would more than love to serve you fresh gelato and sorbets to cool down, but we tried today and it is just won’t be possible coming days without fainting from the heat.

Thank you for your understanding and we will be back on sunday!

Due to the extreme heat predicted for this week, we are forced to adjust our opening hours accordingly.

Exceptionally this week you will be able to find us in the later evenings, when temperatures will (hopefully) start to drop, for your daily dessert 🍦☀️

Don’t forget that next week JULY opening hours will start! 14:00-21:00

CREAM CHEESE + STRAWBERRY

This new flavour brings out a particular nostalgic feeling for me.

I have talked a lot about my (hungarian) grandmother since the opening of Róka, and I will do some more of that now. As kids, all of my cousins, my sister and me used to gather at our grandmother’s place every wednesday afternoon. We would eat and play until our mother came to pick us up after work to go home.

In summer, when we were playing outside in the garden, our grandmother put some fresh strawberries, cream cheese and some sugar in a blender and serve it to us as a sweet treat. We jokingly called it “Plakkekaas met aardbeien”.

While making strawberry sorbet last week, the smell of the crushed strawberries instantly sent me back to my grandmother’s garden and I knew I had to make this into gelato.

This flavour will probably be available for quite a while!
