The Cherry Blossom Festival (Sakura Matsuri) starts tomorrow at the Japanese Garden! 🌸
While it looks like a chilly weekend compared to last week’s warmth, the cherry blossoms are already starting to bloom beautifully.
We’ll have plenty of warm food and drinks ready to keep you cozy. Come and enjoy the first signs of spring with us! 🍵✨

Hello everyone,

The Japanese Garden in Hasselt opens on Saturday, March 1 🌸
We will start our stall from Thursday, March 5.
Thank you for your continued support in 2026.
We look forward to welcoming you again in Hasselt.

During the off-season, we returned to Japan and visited Itami City — Hasselt’s official sister city.
Hasselt and Itami have shared a sister-city relationship for many years, symbolizing the friendship between Belgium and Japan.
In Itami, we visited the bell tower gifted by the City of Hasselt — a beautiful sign of this lasting connection.
Standing there, we truly felt how closely our two cities are connected, even across the distance.
As a small bridge between Belgium and Japan, we are happy to share a taste of Japan with you again this year at the Japanese Garden.

私たちは3月5日（木）から出店いたします。

オフシーズンには日本へ帰り、
ハッセルト市の姉妹都市「伊丹市」を訪れました。
伊丹市にある、ハッセルト市から贈られた鐘楼。
ベルギーと日本のつながりを改めて感じる、とても嬉しい時間でした。
今年も日本庭園で皆さまにお会いできることを、心から楽しみにしています。

Our last event of the season, the Chrysanthemum Festival, has come to a beautiful close. 🍁✨
The combination of autumn leaves, chrysanthemums, and the peaceful atmosphere of the Japanese Garden truly made us feel like we were back in Japan.

This year, there was even a magical display with chrysanthemum flowers frozen inside ice blocks — absolutely stunning! ❄️🌼

Thank you so much to everyone who stopped by and shared this lovely autumn weekend with us.
We’ll be here until Thursday, so come visit while the autumn colors are still at their best. 🌿🍂

今シーズン最後のイベント「菊まつり」が無事に終了しました🍁✨
紅葉と菊、そして日本庭園の静かな雰囲気が重なり合って、まるで日本にいるような美しい週末でした。

今年は、氷の中に菊の花を閉じ込めた幻想的な展示も登場し、皆さんの目を楽しませてくれました❄️🌼

🌸 Last weekend, we had the pleasure of catering a birthday party at a home near Aalst.
Since the birthday boy was really interested in Japan, we ended up holding a little “Onigiri Workshop” 🍙✨
For many guests, it was their first time tasting Japanese food, and everyone enjoyed it so much — we were truly happy to see that.
It was a wonderful birthday celebration, filled with the warmth of the family who gathered there 😊

It turned out to be a rainy Tanabata Festival,
but even in the rain, we enjoyed the powerful sound of taiko drums,
wrote our wishes on colorful tanzaku and hung them on bamboo,
and had fun with a tsumami-zaiku (traditional fabric craft) workshop 🌟
Despite the weather, it turned into a lovely and joyful day.
Thank you so much to everyone who came out in the rain!

あいにくの雨になってしまった七夕まつりでしたが、雨の中でも和太鼓の迫力ある演奏に耳を傾けたり、短冊に願いごとを書いて笹に飾ったり、つまみ細工のワークショップを楽しんだりと、雨にも負けず楽しい時間となりました🌟
足元の悪い中お越しいただいた皆さん、本当にありがとうございました！
