🇯🇵 Leuven Japan Matsuri 🇯🇵

Last weekend, Pongyi had the pleasure of taking part in the very first Leuven Japan Matsuri! 🌸✨

The event was filled with wonderful Japanese culture, from impressive Kendo demonstrations to the beautiful sounds of the shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute) and koto (Japanese harp), as well as Japanese songs performed by a soprano singer. 🎶

Even while working at our stall, we found ourselves completely immersed in the atmosphere and feeling so relaxed and inspired! 🥰

There were also plenty of workshops and a wonderful variety of Japanese goods for sale. The moment you stepped into the venue, it truly felt like being in Japan! 🇯🇵✨

It was lovely to see so many people discovering and enjoying Japanese culture and food.

We were delighted to be part of this special event, sharing our homemade Japanese food, including teriyaki don, gyudon, onigiri, and gomoku gohan (Japanese mixed rice). 🍱🇯🇵

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who worked so hard to bring this event to life, from the preparations to the day itself. And of course, thank you to everyone who stopped by and enjoyed Pongyi's food! 🙏💕

We look forward to continuing to share the warmth and delicious flavours of homemade Japanese cooking here in Belgium. 🌿

🇯🇵 ルーヴェン日本まつり 🇯🇵

先週末は、ルーヴェン日本まつりに出店しました！🌸

今回が初めての開催となるこのイベント。

迫力満点の剣道の実演に、尺八やお琴の音色、そしてソプラノ歌手の方が歌う日本の歌🎶

お仕事をしながら、私たちもすっかり癒されてしまいました🥰

ほかにもワークショップや物販が充実していて、会場に一歩足を踏み入れると、そこはまさに日本！🇯🇵✨

会場にはたくさんの方が訪れ、日本の文化や食を楽しんでいる姿を見ることができました。

Pongyiも、てりやき丼、牛丼、おにぎり、五目御飯など、日本の家庭料理を通してこの素敵なイベントに参加できたことを、とても嬉しく思います🍱🇯🇵

準備から当日まで、イベントを作り上げてくださった皆さま、本当にお疲れさまでした。そして、Pongyiのお料理を食べてくださった皆さま、ありがとうございました！🙏💕

これからもベルギーで、日本の家庭料理の美味しさと温かさをお届けしていきたいと思います🌿

🌸 Pongyi at Leuven Japan Matsuri 2026! 🌸

Next weekend, October 3rd (Saturday) & 4th (Sunday), Pongyi will be joining Leuven Japan Matsuri! ✨

Come and enjoy a weekend filled with Japanese culture, food, performances and more. 🇯🇵🇧🇪

🎌✨ Last weekend, the Manga & Cosplay Event came to a successful end!

We were lucky with the weather, and it turned out to be a wonderfully lively weekend with so many visitors 🌞✨
It feels like the event gets bigger and more exciting every year!

We had such a great time enjoying the event together with everyone 😊
Surrounded by so many amazing costumes and happy smiles, we had a lot of fun too! ✨

Last Sunday, we had the pleasure of joining the international youth football tournament “MVV Maastricht Cup” MVV Maastricht Cup in Maastricht ⚽🇯🇵

Seven strong European clubs brought their U18 teams together, and a selected U17 team from Japan also took part in the tournament. The stadium was filled with the energy and passion of these young players! 🔥

We were delighted to share some Japanese home cooking with everyone, including Teriyaki Don, Gyudon (Japanese beef bowl), and Onigiri (rice balls) 🍱✨

At the end of the tournament, we also had the opportunity to meet and chat with the Japanese team. Their fresh energy and enthusiasm really inspired us and made it such a memorable day.

A big thank you to all the players, coaches, staff, and everyone involved. Great job, everyone! 👏😊

先週の日曜日は、マーストリヒトで開催された国際ユースサッカー大会 「MVV Maastricht Cup」MVV Maastricht Cup に出店させていただきました⚽🇯🇵

ヨーロッパの強豪クラブ7チームのU18チームが集結し、日本からもU17選抜チームが参戦。スタジアムは若い選手たちの熱気とエネルギーに包まれていました🔥

私たちもその熱気を感じながら、てりやき丼、牛丼、おにぎりなど、日本の家庭料理をたくさんの皆さまに楽しんでいただくことができました🍱✨

大会の最後には日本チームの皆さんとも交流する機会があり、爽やかでまっすぐな若いパワーをたくさんいただきました。私たちにとっても、とても思い出深い一日になりました。

選手の皆さん、関係者の皆さま、本当にお疲れさまでした！そしてありがとうございました😊

This year’s Obon Festival has come to a wonderful end! 🏮🌿
Thank you so much to everyone who came and joined us!
It is the only event of the year when you can experience the Japanese Garden at night, making it a truly special occasion. ✨

As the garden lit up after sunset, the sounds of harp and koto performances, Bon Odori, and other Japanese music filled the air. Before I knew it, my body was dancing along all by itself! 💃🎶

It was such a pleasure to enjoy the magical atmosphere of the Japanese Garden with all of you — a completely different experience from during the daytime.

And of course, we at Pongyi were happy to bring a taste of Japanese summer to the festival through our homemade Japanese comfort food, including teriyaki don, gyudon, onigiri, and curry. 🍱🇯🇵

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who enjoyed our food, everyone who shared such kind words with us, and everyone who helped make this event so special. 🙏✨

We look forward to seeing you all again at next year’s Obon Festival! 🏮🌙

今年のお盆まつりも、無事に終えることができました🏮🌿
お越しいただいた皆さま、本当にありがとうございました！

年間を通して、唯一「夜の日本庭園」を楽しめる特別なイベント✨

夜の庭園に灯りがともり、ハープやお琴の演奏、盆踊りなど、日本を感じる音楽が流れる中で、いつの間にか身体が勝手に踊っておりました💃🎶

昼間とはまた違う、幻想的な日本庭園の雰囲気を皆さまと一緒に楽しむことができ、とても嬉しかったです。

そして私たちPongyiも、てり焼き丼や牛丼、おにぎり、カレーなどの日本の家庭料理を通して、皆さまに日本の夏を感じていただけたことを嬉しく思います。

お料理を楽しんでくださった皆さま、温かい声をかけてくださった皆さま、そして素敵な時間を作ってくださった皆さまに、心より感謝いたします🙏✨

また来年のお盆まつりで、皆さまとお会いできることを楽しみにしています。

🌿 We will be taking a break from our stand at the Japanese Garden until the end of this month.

However, we are still happy to accept advance orders for bento delivery 🍱

Last Sunday, we delivered bento boxes to the participants of the Japanese language class held at the Japanese Garden.

Before lunch, we were interviewed in Japanese and had the opportunity to chat with everyone in Japanese. Although it was only a short time, we had a wonderful and enjoyable time together 😊

This time, we prepared a handmade Shokado-style bento featuring chicken katsu as the main dish, accompanied by four side dishes, Japanese pickles, and steamed rice.

We were delighted to see everyone enjoying the meal and are grateful for the warm feedback we received ✨
