Say hello to the Capricciosa Pizza!

Its name means “whimsical”, and there’s a lovely story behind it. Back in Rome, chefs created this pizza to use up what they had, turning a handful of simple ingredients into something everyone fell in love with. Almost a hundred years later, we still can’t get enough of it.

Our Capricciosa Pizza brings together a rich tomato base, creamy fior di latte mozzarella, cooked ham, artichokes, sautéed mushrooms, and black olives.

Last Thursday night, Sander, the brewer from our Belgian beer supplier, De Ranke, was invited to the Belgian Embassy in London to celebrate the relaunch of Good Beer Guide Belgium — a highly esteemed guidebook by Tim Skelton. His guest? NONA’s founder, Sebastian!

It was a real honour to attend this special evening and to celebrate the amazing work that De Ranke does. They are one of only a few remaining breweries in Belgium to make their beer from whole hop flowers — no pellets or synthetics — and you can really taste the difference.

We have worked with them ever since our first NONA restaurant opened back in 2017, and it makes us proud to see them receiving this recognition, so we thought we would share a few images from the past 9 years, including a couple from the night itself!

Panna Cotta comes from Piedmont, in Turin, up in the north of Italy, where the cream is rich and the winters are long. The name says it all, “cooked cream”. Just cream, a little sugar and vanilla bean.

This dessert has been passed down through generations, made at home, when there’s still room for something sweet but nothing too heavy.

And at NONA, we always follow the seasons, right now, our two flavours are dark cherry and apricot.
