It is with a very heavy and very full heart that I have to announce the closure of Gab’s. 2024 has proven to be very difficult for us and we cannot sustain through the end of the summer. This journey has been magical to say the least. I opened Gab’s to build a place of community. A place where people wanted to show up to work. A restaurant that felt like a home. To create art and experience. All of those dreams have been realized. Disbanding our community of regulars, our team, our neighbors is the toughest part of shutting the doors. I want to thank every single person that has walked into Gab’s. All the people that tried something new and told their friends. The die hard regulars that came to the bar every. single. week. You rallied us through the tough moments and celebrated us during the highs. I will never ever forget. And to my team: you are amazing. You treated this place like your own. You re-posted every special event, showed up early, came on your days off, cheered me on in the slow moments, never gave up the dream. Finally, to Chef who has been with me since construction. You were more than just a Chef you were my partner in this project and I couldn’t be more grateful. Even when we were deep in s**t (literally) you never wavered. Even after the 90 hour weeks and the weeks you covered dish and the days we flat sat 75 covers, you never stopped. I can’t wait to see what’s next. Thank you all. Our last day of service will be July 27th. We will be hosting a big closing celebration. Please come and show your support these last two weeks. We will be smiling through with arms wide open. Cue “Dancing Queen” Xoxo Gab’s
P.s. To my parents and fiancé who never doubted me. Almost to a fault ❤️ I love you.
