Md. Abdul Karim Munnu an alumni of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) had participated as a delegate of Bangladesh in the 5th Open Government Partnership global summit 2018 held in Tbilisi, Georgia during 17-19 July, 2018. Throughout the three Summit days, representatives of the OGP’s 96 participating governments and thousands of civil society organizations exchanged ideas on how to make governments more responsive to the citizens they serve and how to empower people to take a more active part in decision-making. The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) joined the Summit as a supporter and active participant, taking a lead in discussing legislative openness, public services and citizen engagement, and inviting special guest Sophia the Humanoid Robot as its Innovation Champion. Other guests and guest speakers included Heads of State, ministers and civil society leaders. In this global Summit Abdul Karim Munnu Represent Bangladesh and Independent University Bangladesh (IUB) in front of the 2000 high official delegates from all over the world including Prime Minister/ President. The Opening ceremony of this high official summit was held in the Parliament of Georgia.

Proud moment for every IUBian !
Abdul Karim Munnu will leave out of Bangladesh on 16th July to participate in 5th Open Government Partnership Global Summit which will happen in Tbilisi, Georgia. 96 President / Prime Minister from all over the world will join this summit. Abdul Karim Munnu will represent Bangladesh and Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) on this global platform. Every one please pray for him.

IUB distributes bountiful reliefs among rohingya exiles.

Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) has just finished distributing plentiful reliefs among devastated rohingya exiles. IUB’s relief activity took place at the Ghundum Camp, Ramu, Ukhiya where the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Milan Pagon led the university team and Registrar, Brig. Gen. (Retd.) Anwarul Islam coordinated the project activity.
As part of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB)’s philanthropic and benevolent endeavors to support deprived humanity. 23 tons of food relief amounting to Taka 25 lakh was allocated by the honorable Trustees of the university to carry out this humanitarian activity. The university distributed 1200 bags of aid that contained rice, daal, salt, potato and baby milk powder. The team also distributed essential medicines of Taka 2.0 lakh, 200 pieces bed sheets, and constructed 10 water pumps and 20 slab-latrines. So far, IUB is the only university to perform this benign endeavor.
Administrative officials of the university and members of IUB’s Social Welfare Club took part in distributing aids among the deprived rohingyas. Bangladesh Army extended all sorts of cooperation to IUB team in designing & accomplishing the project.
