Islamic State claims credit for the attack, 20-30 including foreigners held hostage at Spanish restaurant in the Gulshan zone....Two police officers were killed as law enforcers try to smoke out gunmen who took a number of people, including foreigners, hostage inside a Spanish restaurant in Dhaka’s Gulshan diplomatic zone Friday evening.

According to diplomatic sources, there may be 20 to 30 people who are being held hostage now.

US-based SITE Intelligence Group tweeted that Amaq News Agency of global terrorist organisation Islamic State (IS) that fighters carried out the attack. The Daily Star could not verify the claim independently.The incident, that began around 8:45pm tonight at Holey Artisan Bakery, a Spanish restaurant, on Road 79, has caused to injuries of at least 30 people including police officials....."Never expected IS in Bangladesh....The hostage situation is turning uglier.....Hey Allah give us strength ,Help the people whose life is in danger...and show us way....so we can be safe again".
