Green groupers are protogynous hermaphrodites. They are born initially as functional females. As they reach larger size, the dominant females turns into males.

Grouper hatchery needs to “s*x” the breeders before the start of the breeding season to make sure males and females are present at a required s*x ratio

Protandrous hermaphrodite. Males when 2-4 years old. Turn into females as they grow past 3 kgs in size. It is therefore important to have multiple aged breeders when into hatchery business

You know that feeling when a small change suddenly feels big? 🌱 This is one of those moments.

In Japan, grocery bags are now being made from materials that don’t linger in the ocean. If one slips into the sea, microbes can break it down instead of turning it into harmful scraps. Fewer plastic ghosts drifting through coral reefs. 🐠💙

These bags look and carry just like the ones we know—but the difference is what happens after. They’re made from plant-based polymers that naturally biodegrade in seawater, helping keep marine life safer. 🌊♻️

Airports and retailers in Japan have already tested them. This isn’t sci-fi. It’s real. It’s on shelves, in people’s hands, slowly replacing the old stuff that never goes away. 🛍️✨

Scientists have even developed new plastics that dissolve in seawater within hours in lab tests. That kind of progress makes the future feel closer. 🔬⚡

Imagine turtles and seabirds moving through clear water—not a soup of single-use trash. 🐢🕊️ Imagine our kids seeing blue, not plastic. 💙

This is how we get there—one bag at a time. 🌍💚
