Good morning, friends ☀️
We need to talk about no-shows.
Last night we had two tables of 10 — twenty seats out of our 55 — gone in one night. One cancelled two hours before the reservation, even though we were in touch with her the entire time. The other never showed up at all. No call, no message, nothing.
Two hours' notice for a table of 10 is not acceptable. How exactly are we supposed to fill ten seats in two hours? That's not how reservations work, and you know it. That space was held for you — turned away from other guests who could have filled it — and then it sat empty.
This isn't just about the money. It's about our team — the people who prepped, planned, and held that space for you, only to be left standing there. It takes the spirit out of a room. It's disrespectful.
We're wondering how many of our fellow restaurant owners are dealing with this same thing — ridiculous no-shows, people ghosting reservations like it costs nothing. This is not the way forward.
And this is exactly why restaurants ask for deposits. Not because we don't trust you — but because too many people disrespect our work and our livelihoods, and we have to protect them somehow.
Plans change, we understand that. All we ask is a message, a call, or the cancel button already in your confirmation email.
We love having you here. Just let us know when you're not coming.
