Today is World Turtle Day, as promoted by the American Tortoise Rescue! In order to increase knowledge and awareness over turtles all over the world! 🌎⁣

The 4 species of turtles who nest in Aruba, according to the TurtugAruba Save-the-Sea-Turtles organization, are the Green sea turtle, Leatherback sea turtle, Loggerhead sea turtle and the Hawksbill turtle.⁣

Sea turtles are endangered species worldwide and it’s known that only 1 in 1000 hatchings of turtles survive to adulthood. That’s why It's important to protect Aruba’s turtles! 💚⁣

How’s Aruba’s condition regarding COVID-19?⁣

As of May 12, there were 101 cases of COVID-19, 9 that were still going and 89 have recovered. 54 positive cases are under quarantine and since the outbreak in Aruba, only 3 deaths.⁣
⁣
On May 8, Aruba’s Minister of Tourism announced tentative plans to reopen Aruba’s borders, if it were to take place, it’d happen sometime between June 15 and July 1st.⁣
⁣
He insisted however that this was purely tentative and not certain. As such, we can conclude that it’d wiser to keep security protocols and stay at home as we’ve been doing so! ☀⁣

🔹 2. Use baskets to presort laundry between each section, like towels, shirts and/or washed and unwashed.⁣

🔹 3. If you live with multiple people, do separate loads for each person in the house.⁣
⁣
🔹4. Keep items that need special treatment or dry cleaning from mixing with regular items while putting a load on the wash machine.⁣

Last week, the Aruba Birdlife Conservation (ABC) celebrated its 10th anniversary last week, and they’ve been appealing to the Prime Minister to have 16 natures areas to be declared National Protected Areas under the supervision of Aruba’s National Park. 🌿⁣

They celebrated the participation and support of thousands of people who signed the petition for ABC’s appeal. And of course, this is a good time to remember how important nature and birds are to us! 🐦⁣
