We’re excited about the second instalment of She at the Helm, the women-led dinner series that had a sold-out debut in May at Navi.

The event brings a six-course, narrative-driven feast to TAVERNA on August 20, in support of Dementia Australia.

Featuring, Michelle Elia of Cicciolina, Angie Giannakodakis from Taverna, Georgia Roberts, co-owner of Navi, chef Ana Cortes Garcia and Navi sommelier, Bonnie Spain, the dinner, titled Matriarch, will bring a more casual, communal evening described as a “familial feast of culture.”

Eight years ago, Navi opened its doors in Yarraville.

The menu has evolved, the team has grown, new voices have joined the kitchen and floor, but Julian’s intention has never changed. We cook with curiosity, we serve with care, and we are endlessly grateful for the people who come to the table.

‘In Yarraville, one of Melbourne’s most intimate dining rooms is turning eight with a month-long black truffle menu that reads like winter written in cursive: miso XO macarons, potato damper with kangaroo, mud crab and fermented grains, rabbit with artichoke and nasturtium, and duck sent deep into its cold-weather era.
 
There’s the full evening menu, the Saturday Matinee and a more relaxed Lounge Sip and Snack edit for anyone chasing the pleasure without the full ceremony.
 
Bookings are open now, but the clock is very much on. Truffle season waits for no one.’
