We’re Hiring for a very specific role!

We're looking for a casual team member to work alongside Donna in the deli and produce store. This isn't a stand-behind-the-counter job. Our shelves are full of beautiful food and it takes real work to keep them that way. Restocking and rotating, building displays that make people stop and look, checking dates, keeping the cheese cabinet immaculate, and helping customers who want to know what's good and why.

What we're really after is someone who sees what needs doing and does it, without waiting to be asked. If you can't walk past a messy shelf, you'll fit right in.

Set days and hours, busier through summer and Christmas, quieter through the cooler months. Retail food experience is great but we'll train the right person. What we can't train is work ethic.

HAVE YOUR SAY IN THE POLL BELOW 🎨

This weekend we held a “Paint’n’Sip” class for our staff Christmas in July party (which turned in to Christmas in August, due to a postponement) with 14 of our 29 staff.

Our very talented and highly skilled Art Teacher Lara Canty facilitated such a fantastic evening!!! So much so that I’ve had a number of staff request to do it again 🥰.

What our staff created turned out so great that we’ve collectively decided to hang these in our Tearooms for some colour, and to show off our staff’s skills! Proud of the team for what they created!!

If you’re looking to host a similar event, I highly recommend getting in touch with Lara! We may even consider running these as a special event in store from time to time… who knows?! 🤔 💡 😆

Breakfast from 7:30am, lunch from 11:30am — come in for whatever suits your morning.

Today we pause.
At Gippsland Food & W**e, we are humbled to have ancestors who answered the call across generations. Sergeant William Collier Francis, who served in the Boer War. Corporal Walter Batley Seaman of the 10th Battalion AIF, who fell at Gallipoli on 19 May 1915, aged 24. His brother Sergeant Arthur James Seaman of the 12th Battalion AIF, lost just months later. Private Frederick Albert Seaman, who came home. Arthur Haigh, who served in the First World War. And Egbert Rudolph Francis, who enlisted in the Second World War.
Some came home. Some did not. Their names are part of our family story, but they belong to a much bigger one. Across this country, every town, every street, every family carries a thread of that same story.
Anzac Day is a quiet day for us. A day for remembering, for being grateful, and for reflecting on the freedoms we so often take for granted.
To those who fell, we remember you.
To those who returned, we thank you.
To those who serve today, we honour you.
To every family who has lost someone, every family who has welcomed someone home, and every family who waits while a loved one serves today, we stand with you in remembrance.
Lest we forget. 🌺
