Hope you all enjoyed your long weekend. SOUP is now back is back on the menu for the rest of winter, alongside all your heart warming winter faves.
This Week at my little shop
▪️ Pork Tonkatsu Sando, katsu pork, tonkatsu sauce, slaw and mustard
▪️ Atlantic Salmon on hot potaro salad, with capers, dill & rocket.

This week we will be preparing for a chamge to our breakfast offerings for winter.
THINK - Porridge, Shakshuka, Mushrooms on toast and our House Beans & Smash Browns some things we will say goodbye to for the colder months.

LUNCH MENU, salad bar will continue for the winter, we will also bring back some of your fave dine in options to keep you warm. Fajita bowl, Teriayki Salmon and karaage chicken and a snitzel toastie for the folks that are not as keen on salads in this weather.

It’s a short week, you have 4 days to grab yourself a treat and a chat. See you soon

BACK TUESDAY with all your favourite food, coffee and people. Watch out for some fun changes in the next winter weeks. You may have noticed some of your favourite cafe staff absent as we roll through annual leave over the cooler months and they take a little time out from our little shop to enjoy all lifes treasures.

LETS TALK ABOUT COSTS AND SUPPLY! Nothing frustrates me more as a business owner when you constantly have to spend time sourcing the best price over and over.
Hospitality is hard enough with fluctuating fresh produce prizes. The now new fuel levy everyone is adding even though fuel prices are currently pre war prices with the excise.
FARMER LOUS is currently charging everyone $5 a delivery. We would get 3/4 a week. Yep thats for every customer in Yamba and they run a van every day…..So now I am also finding alternative ways to get fresh produce. Elgas are adding $15……the only supplier to reduce there fuel levy inline with fuel reduction is our coffee supplier Merchsnt coffee roasters down from $7 to $3 a delivery!
I’ll be honest Coles is far cheaper on most items! I know right, even though you all complain about Coles. I actually can not get wholesale cheaper….GET THAT! And Coles offers far better customer service than most wholesale suppliers!!! They shop it, pack it, bring it to my car, have a chat. etc etc
So lets take these pistachio nuts. The supplier I use (last photo) $80 a kilo. COLES $90 a kilo but a quick search online. I got these delicious Pistachio for under $50 a kilo!! I did by 4 kilos to get free postage. So I spent $180 on 4 kilos of pistachio instead of getting 2kg for the same price. Am I the only person that finds it ridiculous? That the people you spend thousands of dollars a month with just can’t get a better price? And I completely understand the cost of running a business (25 years in) however how can there be such big variance in sourcing a similiar product. Can sign up to the nut shop as a wholesale customer and save an extra 36% on that!

Don’t even start talking about eggs!!

Fair to say I am currently reviewing all products to make sure we don’t have to extremely lift our prices, to make sure we can still supply you the most delicious goods at good prices, bevause we love seeing you every single day and still being able to afford a sweet treat with your morning cuppa.
