Wow, what a last day!
It felt like 2.30pm, and when I checked, it was only 10.30am!
Neal, Lexi and I were firing on all cylinders.
Thank you to everyone who came to enjoy Hardwood Espresso one last time. I say one last time, as everyone who was here today has been here before... from the very early days of 2022 right down to a lovely family who were staying up here in Topi for the weekend and visited us on Friday, only to return today for another slice of Lemon Myrtle Cheesecake.
This entire final weekend has been amazing and heart-warming.
Friday, we greeted many familiar faces, and the highlight was the Wootton Garden group presented us with a bottle of sparkling and a dog-shaped tin of delicious human treats, complete with lovely messages from each of the members on the inside of the lid.
Saturday was a bit of a blur, with many lovely faces coming and going and enjoying their favourite Neal-infused culinary delights.
Today came around so quickly and went just as fast. Many of our loyal regulars came to have one last Stockman's Panini, Berliner and Portuguese Tart. The Lemon Myrtle Cheesecake was also in high demand.
Our family on Neal's side rolled in later in the morning to cheer us on and help with the washing up as the minutes flew by at a rapid speed.
We ended the service with a couple of quiet glasses of bubbly with friends and a stunning and huge arrangement of flowers by Dogswood Botanical, which Neal secretly arranged with Jarrod to surprise me.
On behalf of Neal, I'd like to thank everyone for embracing Hardwood Espresso and Neal's unique creations and amazing coffee. We've been told our coffee was the best in the region, not to mention Neal's pies.
Without further ado, a huge thank you, and we'll see you on the other side of the counter when the new crew take over in a couple of weeks. More to come on this!
Love Jo x
