Well, looks like you’ve decided to bring us some much-needed rain! And while we absolutely love a good sunny festival day… is a little rain going to slow us down?

Absolutely not. Let’s go! 😂🙌

October is shaping up to be another beautifully busy month for the BSM crew, and here’s where you’ll find our pop up:

…and a couple of beautiful weddings around the Illawarra thrown into the mix. 💍❤️

Meanwhile, Balinese Spice Magic restaurant is open as usual, and we’d absolutely love to see your beautiful faces, fill your bellies and feed you some good Balinese food. 🥥🌶️🍚

So whether October brings sunshine, rain, muddy festival fields or all of the above… we’re ready for you!

A little gift at our door

How could we possibly have a mellow week when we start our working week with a little gift waiting at our front door? 🥹❤️

Food from the community, for the community.

Someone quietly left this beautiful little gift for us fresh produce, a gorgeous kaffir lime branch, lemons and whole lot of love. No fuss, no fanfare… just a beautiful act of kindness.

And honestly, these are the moments that remind us why we do what we do.

Food is about more than feeding people.
It’s about connection.
It’s about sharing.
It’s about looking after one another.

Our Balinese Spice Magic pop-up team will be at Culture Mix in Crown Street Mall near the stage from 11am–6pm. 🌶️💛

How wonderful that we get to celebrate so many rich cultures, stories, flavours and talents right here in Wollongong.

Come wander, taste, dance, listen, learn and celebrate the beautiful diversity that makes our community so special.

Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful dads and father figures out there. ❤️

Thank you for being the ones who hold us, guide us, encourage us and help shape the next generation. Your love, patience and presence mean more than words can say.

And today, we especially want to celebrate the best dad in the world, my husband, Will. ❤️

The most wonderful dad to our three children, my partner in life, my soulmate… and apparently, my very own bamboo-building wizard! 😂

While most husbands might buy flowers and take the wife shopping, this man went and built me an entire bamboo Warung for our pop-up events!

How amazing is that?! 🥹❤️

Behind every crazy dream, every market, every festival and every new adventure, there’s often a very special person quietly helping make it happen.

Thank you, Will, for being our rock, our builder, our fixer, our biggest supporter and the most wonderful Dad our kids could ask for.

We love you more than words can say. ❤️

Spring has arrived at BSM…
and she’s brought colour, crunch, fragrance and a little bit of chilli mischief. 🌶️😉

Our new Chef’s Specials are inspired by the goodness of the season, fragrant torch ginger, fresh greens, nourishing banana trunk, creamy coconut, earthy taro and our beloved fermented tempeh.

Beautiful ingredients, Balinese soul, and just enough heat to keep things interesting. 🔥

So come taste the season with us.

SNEAK PEEK OF OUR SPRING SPECIAL!

Sambal Kecombrang, Torch Ginger Flower Salad

We’re pairing this beautifully fragrant Balinese flower with calamari for a fresh, zingy and seriously aromatic spring dish.

And yes… our plant-loving crew is covered too! 🌱
The vegan version comes with Thai eggplant, delicious, nourishing and naturally packed with vitamins and minerals.

Kecombrang isn’t just a pretty face either! 😉 It contains antioxidant compounds and has shown promising anti-inflammatory properties.

🌶️ Chilli level? Just a tiny bit to start, you can handle it, I promise! 😜
Or choose medium, spicy… or JULES SPICY.

Spring is just around the corner, and we’re getting ready to pop up all over the place!
While our restaurant hours stay as usual, you’ll also find Balinese Spice Magic out and about at some pretty fabulous events in September.

We’re supporting the Beat meister! If you’re in the mood to shake those blues away, come join us for some food, music and dancing. Free event 💃🕺

🌿 4–6 September | Bloomsfield Festival | Shoalhaven River
A whole weekend of fantastic music, dancing, good vibes and delicious food in one of the South Coast’s most beautiful spots. 🌊🎶

🌏 26 September | Culture Mix | Wollongong
A full day celebrating culture, community, music and food, hosted by Wollongong City Council. Come celebrate with us! ❤️

🧺 27 September | coledale_markets
Come say hi, grab some Balinese goodness and have a wander around the markets.

And you might even find us popping up at your home for private catering… making your kitchen smell like Bali for months afterwards! 😂
