The bright yellow Wattle blooms are letting us now Winter is ending and Spring is almost here. We are sure to get that last chill of Winter, but then days will continue to lengthen and warmer days are ahead.

♻️ MOBILE COMMUNITY RECYCLING CENTRE is visiting Penrose on WEDNESDAY 26 AUGUST 8.30AM to 11.30AM.
Bring your fire extinguishers, batteries, motor oils, fluorescent globes, cardboard, gas bottles, paint, polystyrene, mobile phones, smoke detectors and soft plastics for recycling.

Following the recent Wingello News mentioning the lack of rain over the last few months, we had 18mm overnight. How's that for service?
I think I need to update our rain gauge. The plastic is getting quite weathered!

Sadly, Pat Hawkins passed away last night.
Many have enjoyed her jams and preserves she sold through the local markets and the store, as well as enjoyed conversations over the years.
We will miss the huge grin she always displayed when she visited us over the years.

Sad News

Following a fall, at her Penrose property, on Saturday night Pat Hawkins sadly died last night at Liverpool hospital.

Pat was a strong lady who was never afraid to speak her mind and tell you what she thought. She loved being part of the ‘Penrose Also Sings’ group and she lived life to the full – with little thought of slowing down. In lots of ways age wasn’t important to Pat, you just had to get on and do things.

Our thoughts go out to Pat's friends and family at this sad time.

A big thank you to all the emergency services who helped on Saturday night. We really are very lucky to live in an area where we receive their outstanding help and support.
