The name The Malt House, is borrowed from Warwick's History. The Malth House was owned by Jones & Sons LTD located on the corner of Fitzroy and Lyons Streets during the late 1800's. The Malt House opened its doors in 2017 and is localised on the main road and the historic building underwent a total refurbishment before opening, giving it a contemporary look but preserving the rustic outdoor seatin

g area which overlooks the city streets while natural light floods the area through its open windows. Up the timber staircase, The Malt House offers the rooftop area. It is a wonderful open space to appreciate the city view and organise large celebrations. We wish to provide unsurpassed service to this amazing community.

✨✨ WE ARE HIRING ✨✨

As we are becoming busier and busier we are looking for some new team members to help lighten the load 🤩

FOH- we are chasing some customer service superstars.
We have 2 positions available , one is definitely more suited to a school aged applicant as it is only 2 days a week.
The other position available is for someone with a bit more customer service experience under their belt, an RSA, and a can do attitude.

BOH- 2 kitchen staff positions available. Approx 20hours per week but this will often lead to more depending on our needs.
Experience is preferred but not necessary.
Role involves all aspects of the kitchen: prep, dishes & service periods.
Must have night and weekend availability, please do not apply if you constantly need weekends off or are afraid of washing dishes 😎

Cake by Wattle & Wolf Bakehouse - our staff may have stolen a crumb or 2 and we can confirm it was absolutely delicious !

Kicking ourselves we didn’t take more pics of the food - how yummy does the charcuterie board look 🤩 (the accompanying crackers and dip board didn’t see the camera but was equally delicious)

One whole year of Malthouse Restaurant & Bar. 🥂🥳

Looking back through these photos feels a little surreal. From the dusty floors, renovations, paint, tools and countless late nights before we even opened the doors… to where we are today. What a year it has been.

There has been an enormous amount of blood, sweat and more than a few tears poured into this place over the past 12 months. There have been days that have felt incredibly hard, days where we’ve questioned ourselves, and plenty of moments where we wondered what on earth we had gotten ourselves into! 😂 But there have also been so many moments of pride, joy, laughter and memories that we will treasure forever.

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to take on The Malthouse and to have had the chance to pour so much of ourselves into creating something we are proud of.

Most of all, we are grateful for the people.

To every single staff member who has been part of our journey.. whether you’ve been with us from day one or for a short chapter- thank you. Your hard work, commitment and contribution have helped make The Malthouse what it is today.

To every supplier, contractor and tradesperson who has helped us along the way- thank you for your patience, your expertise and for helping us turn an idea into a reality.

And to every single customer who has walked through our doors, ordered takeaway, placed an Uber Eats order, celebrated a special occasion with us, grabbed a drink, shared a meal or simply stopped by to support us- thank you. Every single order means more to us than you probably realise.

We are so humbled by the way our community has shown up for us over this past year and embraced The Malthouse. Your continued support has genuinely kept us going, and we never take it for granted.

So here’s to looking back at where we started, celebrating how far we’ve come, and looking forward to everything still to come.

On Friday the 24th of July we had the absolute privilege of celebrating something truly special.

An incredible 50 years of marriage. 💛

Fifty years isn’t just a number.. it’s a lifetime of choosing each other through the highs and the lows, the laughter and the tears, the easy seasons and the challenging ones. It’s a testament to love, commitment, patience, resilience, and standing side by side through whatever life brings.

It was an honour to host such a meaningful milestone and to celebrate alongside two wonderful people who have become such valued regulars here at The Malthouse. Thank you for allowing us to be a small part of such a memorable day.

Here’s to 50 amazing years together, and to many more filled with love, laughter, family, and cherished memories.
