footsteps of my mother, who was an amazing cook and way ahead of her time. Iโve always loved to cook fresh healthy food for myself, my family and friends. I love entertaining and always make use of what is in abundance that season. Lemons are always in season and one of the most versatile fruits you can get. I have looked around and there are no recipe books that focus on lemons and the many things they can be used for. Lemons are one of the easiest to use fruits and grow in many yards Australia wide. They can be used in savoury dishes, salads, drinks, and many deserts. I am not just a passionate cook, but also a passionate gardener. For me they go hand-in-hand. I have always grown my own fresh lemons, a variety of herbs including basil, parsley, coriander, thyme, chives, and mint. Some of the other produce I grow includes chillies, and an array of colourful tomatoes to add interest to my dishes. I grow many fruit trees like lemons, limes, oranges, and mandarins. I also grow many other fruits such as apples, plums, figs, peaches, pears, nectarines, passionfruit and even grapes. Having such a variety of produce at my fingertips inspires and allows me to express myself through cooking. ๐
I follow many chefs including Donna Hay and Marian Grasby and over the years used many Womens Weekly cookbooks.They have been the biggest inspiration for me in my cooking. I aspire to be like them. I am in awe of what they have achieved. In this cookbook, you will find many of the recipes that Iโve cooked many times over the last 40 years. They have been adapted from the original recipes to some with newer ingredients that are available today healthier, cleaner and tastier.๐
I have never tired of creating beautiful food to be enjoyed.Iโve always enjoyed every moment in the kitchen and produced some beautiful food that Iโm very proud of. I would love to share my recipes and styles of cooking with Australia and the world. Lemons are not only grown in many aussie backyards but also worldwide. I want to write a cookbook with recipes that focus on this wonderful underrated fruit which you can pick straight from your own tree. ๐ Lemons are fun to cook with and fresh off your own tree. They can be used in marinades, sauces, cakes, salads, drinks and almost anything you can think of. There is always an abundance of lemons to share from your own backyard,with your parents, grandparents, neighbours and friends. ๐ Take them home and just start cooking. There's just something about having them in your house and being able to use the whole lemon including the rind, juice and flesh. On a recent trip to Italy and the Amalfi Coast with my family. I had the pleasure of seeing so many beautiful lemon trees, lemon inspired ceramics, lemon recipes, limoncello, even lemon coloured buildings. There was a faint scent of lemons rushing through the air. This has inspired me to create my own beautiful and colorful recipe book focusing on all things lemon. Putting this book together has been something that Iโve thought about many times over the years as a legacy for myself and my family and friends. A long career of cooking and many hours in the kitchen have also inspired me to move forward with this beautiful and useful recipe book. ๐
