We are absolutely delighted to congratulate one of our newest Rotary members Sandrajane Vincent-Corry on receiving the Community Excellence Award at last night's Manningham Community Awards. This honour recognises her tireless work and compassionate leadership of the Park Orchards Community Pantry where she supports and coordinates a dedicated team of twenty local volunteers. The Pantry exists to share rescued food freely within the local community, reducing food waste while strengthening connections and local food resilience. What began as a simple neighbourhood food-swap of excess homegrown produce and preserves has grown into a valued and trusted part of the local landscape. Today the Pantry FB group connects almost 600 members with over 300 households using the Pantry regularly. Each week Sandrajane and the team rescue and share over 500kg of food and deliver care packs to those who need them - supporting wellbeing, sustainability and community resilience across Park Orchards and surrounds.
Congratulations Sandrajane, your steadfast leadership, kindness and commitment inspire us all and we are so proud to have you as part of our Rotary family.
