🍷 MEET THE WINEMAKER THIS FRIDAY 🍷
Tomorrow we’re welcoming Joel Trist of Buttermans Track to Hops & Vine for a tasting of four beautiful, locally made Yarra Valley w**es.
Joel grew up on the family property in St Andrews, learning vineyard management and minimal-intervention w**emaking from his father, Gary. His career has since taken him from working alongside respected local w**emakers to the vineyards of Burgundy and Tuscany—experiences that deepened his knowledge of Pinot Noir and Sangiovese.
Joel brings all of that knowledge home to Buttermans Track, with a strong commitment to sustainability and w**es that truly reflect their variety and where they were grown.
On tasting:
2023 Chardonnay — crisp and textured, with citrus, peach and pear
2023 Sangiovese Rosé — bright, juicy and refreshing
2022 Sangiovese — savoury and earthy, with cherry, plum and fine tannins
2023 Pinot Noir — silky and elegant, with wild strawberry, cherry and subtle French oak
2022 Syrah — rich, spicy and full of dark-fruit flavour
