2023 Bandicoot Run Syrah, Longwarry, VIC

We love a cool climate Syrah, even more so when it’s made under 20 kms from the restaurant.

The w**emakers, couple Al and Adriana, were originally both architects, with a focus on regenerative and sustainable design. Seeking a lifestyle change which supported their values, they decided to pursue organic farming and w**emaking. In 2017, the opportunity came up to take over their family’s 3 hectare property in Longwarry, with some established vines, and Bandicoot Run Wines was born.

They took a lighter-handed approach when crafting the 2023 Syrah, with a keen focus on delicacy and vibrancy. The resulting w**e displays lifted red and blue fruit, with layered spice and savoury complexity, and floral notes from the 5-10% co-fermented Viognier.

Thanks for making such a special example of local Syrah Al and Adriana!

2024 Domaine Frantz Chagnoleau Mâcon-Villages Clos Saint-Pancras Chardonnay, Burgundy, FRA

Winemakers Caroline Gon and Frantz Chagnoleau are renowned for creating very fine examples of Southern Burgundy white, and their Clos Saint-Pancras Chardonnay is no exception, made with grapes exclusively from the Clos Saint vineyard in Mâconnais.

It’s energetic, bright, and crisp, with notes of toasted nuts, lime, and green apple, and a lovely mineral finish imparted by the vineyard’s high altitude limestone soils.

Pair with our mussel dish, topped with a potato and mustard foam, crispy bacon, and leek ash.

Pouring by the glass next week.
