Not cafe related, but a little share about another project that’s been brewing 🤍🌿

A few months ago we started a little community swap meet idea and we’ve now had two beautiful afternoons of swapping, chatting and connecting. Our third swap meet is coming up in two weeks and we would love to see even more people come along!

So… what exactly is a swap meet?

It’s simple, you bring along something you’ve made, grown, baked or have excess of, pop it on the table and swap it for other things that people have brought along. No money exchanged, just sharing what we have and connecting with others.

So far we’ve had things like sourdough, homemade sauces, jams, citrus, plants, seedlings, baked goods, fresh produce and lots of other homemade treasures.

Everyone is welcome! Come alone, bring the kids, bring a friend. It’s a relaxed afternoon of swapping, chatting and meeting people in our community 🌱

We can’t wait for the next one 🤍

Meet our new business partner. He’s acquired a 47% stake in Mr. Hubert’s, so we may as well pop him on the roster. ☕️

Side note: we don’t normally post much about politics, but after the recent budget and tax discussions we thought we’d jump on the trend.

We are all for paying fair tax. We pay GST, wage tax, company tax and personal income tax (and plenty of it). But the discussions around business sale taxes and capital gains have honestly left many small business owners feeling pretty mind blown 🤯 . Success is becoming harder and harder to hold onto in Australia.

We understand policies are complex and governments need revenue. But small businesses are already carrying rising wages, rising costs, insurance, power bills and constant pressure, all while trying to create jobs, support local communities and build something meaningful for our families.

Anyway… enough politics. Please make Anthony feel welcome on his first shift behind the coffee machine. 🤝☕️

To the mums, step mums, mums to be, fur mums, solo mums, grieving mums, those longing to be mums and all the special mother figures in between, we hope your day was filled with love, warm cuddles, delicious brunches and plenty of HOT coffee ☕️🤍

A huge thank you to our incredible team for giving up parts of their own Mother’s Day, or time with their mums, grandmas and families, to help keep the cafe doors open and make the weekend so special for others. We are so grateful for each of you!

And thank you to every single person who supported us across the last three very busy days. Whether you grabbed a takeaway coffee, joined us for brunch or stopped by for a sweet treat, every order means the world to a small business like ours. We genuinely appreciate every single one of you and never take your support for granted 🥰💕

For the first time, his hat is off, a small sign of respect as we honour the courage, sacrifice and service of the ANZACs.

We are so grateful for those who have served and those who continue to serve our country.
