🏆 A very proud moment for Cafe Tempest ❤️

We are incredibly honoured to receive the Audrey Matthews Business Award for Community Contribution from the Wallsend - Maryland Rotary Club.

For us Cafe Tempest has always been about more than coffee, food and business. It's about community, connection and giving back to the people and local organisations that make Wallsend such a special place.

Over the years we have been proud to support local charities, schools, community events, fundraisers and other local initiatives - and to provide a welcoming place where people can come together.

To have that contribution recognised by our local community means so much to us.

A huge thankyou to Wallsend - Maryland Rotary Club for this wonderful recognition, and to our amazing customers, staff and community who continue to support our cafe.

We are proud to be local, proud to give back, and proud to be part of the Wallsend Community.
❤️☕️💞

❤️ TEAM TEMPEST ❤️

At Cafe Tempest we're more than just a team - we're a little bit of organised chaos, alot of laughter, and plenty of good coffee and eats !

Behind the coffee machine, sandwich bar, grill and kitchen is a team of similar personalities each bringing their own skills, energy and sense of humour to the cafe everyday.

There's the barista turning coffee into something worthwhile getting out of bed for. The chef keeping the kitchen moving, and the all rounders jumping in-between everything that needs doing - often several jobs at once. 😂

Some days are calm. Some days are absolute chaos. Most days are somewhere in between. But through the busy morning's, coffee runs, orders flying, dishes piling up, sandwiches being stacked, milkshakes blending, customer's wanting a chat, the team keeps showing up, helping each other and having a laugh along the way.

Because that's what makes Cafe Tempest special.

Good food.
Great coffee.
Genuine people.
A little chaotic. Plenty of laughter. And a team that mostly is family. 💞

Cafe Tempest - where you enter as strangers and leave as friends ❤️

Behind every local small business are real people - people who work hard, open the doors early and put everything into keeping their business going.
But lately, for some small businesses, simply opening your doors can come with fear.
Wallsend Bakery was robbed at knifepoint early this morning, it's something no business owner or employee should ever have to experience. Your workplace should be somewhere you feel safe - not somewhere you have to worry about wether you'll make it home safely.
Local businesses are already doing it tough. Rising cost's, long hours and the pressures of keeping the doors open are challenging enough without having to face crime and feel unsafe in the place you work.
So please support local business !
Shop local. Eat local. Be kind. Look out for the people that keep our communities going.
Behind every small business is a person, a family, a team - and a community that deserves to feel safe.❤️

☕️ MEET THE TEAM - part 4
👑 All-Rounder....Alecia 💞

If you've ever walked into the cafe and wondered how one person can possibly be in 5 places at once, chances are Alecia is somewhere in the middle of it all !

Alecia is our happy-go-lucky, always smiling, all-rounder, bringing plenty of laughter and good vibes to even the busiest day's.
She can be behind the sandwich bar making up orders one minute, flipping eggs on the grill next, then suddenly she's answering the phone, taking orders and serving customer's - all while finding time and having a chat and somehow trying to remember what she's meant to be doing 😂

And when the cafe is absolutley flat out, orders flying, phones ringing, food cooking, customer's waiting, dishes piling up and the kitchen moving at full speed - chaos is basically Alecia's natural habitat 🤪

For Alecia it's not just about getting the job done. It's about making people feel welcome, having a laugh along the way and bringing a little happiness into everyone's day.

Busy ? Absolutely
Chaotic ? Usually
Smiling ? Always

That's Alecia - a little bit of everything, a whole lot of laughter, and somehow remembering it all and keeping the Cafe Tempest chaos moving !

☕️MEET THE TEAM - part 3

👑 Barista, All-Rounder... Troy 💞
Yep the Boss lady's Son-in-law !

You'll usually find Troy behind the coffee machine, keeping the caffeine flowing and the good vibes going. But coffee isn't all he does - Troy is one of those handy all rounders who can jump in wherever he's needed, Wether that's helping out front, lending a hand in the kitchen, sorting thing's behind the scene's or keeping everything moving when the cafe is busy.

Oh those never ending dirty dishes, somebody's got to do them, and Troy definatley does his fair share 🤪

From Coffee and milkshakes, fresh juices to cakes, customers and phone calls. Troy is always ready for all the chaos. There's a pretty good chance he has got it covered.

Friendly, easy going and always up for a chat a joke and the never ending banter. 😂
Troy is a valued part of the Cafe Tempest crew and helps make the Cafe the busy, welcoming place it is.

TROY - Barista ☕️ All rounder 🍴
Bit of this Bit of that 🤪
All part of the Cafe Tempest Team ❤️

☕️MEET THE TEAM - part 2

👑 Manager.... Rhys 💞
Yep the Boss lady's son !

If anyone know's Rhys, they know one thing - he's always busy 🤪
Rhys is one of our very own Jack of all trades at Cafe Tempest. Manager? ✔️ Chef? ✔️ Baker? ✔️ Barista? ✔️ Need something fixed, sorted, cooked, baked, brewed or somehow magically made happen ? Rhys is probably already onto it !

There's rarely a quiet moment when Rhys is around. You'll find him bouncing between the kitchen and coffee machine, baking and front of house, keeping the team moving, the food flowing and the coffee coming - often doing three jobs at once and yet somehow finding time to crack a smile. 😊

He's a big part of what keeps Cafe Tempest ticking along, bringing plenty of hard work, energy and a "we'll get it done" attitude to the cafe every day.

So next time you see Rhys running around like he owns the place.... he probably does have a little to do with that, considering the Boss lady is only casual 🤣

Meet Rhys - Manager, Chef, Baker, Barista, problem solver and all round Cafe Tempest legend ❤️

☕️ MEET THE TEAM - part 1

👑 Boss Lady... Julie 💋

If you've been to Cafe Tempest, chances are you've met Julie - and if you haven't your probably about to 🤪

Julie is full of fun, love and laughter and has a knack of making everyone feel welcome. She loves a good chat, a bit of banter and generally getting involved in a little bit of this, a little bit of that.... and occasionally a whole lot of chaos !🤣

These days Julie may be "only casual" but don't let that fool you - she still has plenty of opinions, plenty of personality and somehow always know's what's going on 👀

❤️ Loves - a good chat, a laugh, her Cafe Tempest family and making people feel at home.
🎤 Hidden talent - singing... fortunately it's very well hidden 😂🤣

So next time you see Julie, say hello, grab a coffee and prepare yourself for some good vibes, questionable singing and a bit of cheeky banter !

That's Julie - Cafe Tempest's Boss Lady, part-time trouble maker and full-time character ❤️☕️🤪
