Wattle Seed Scones + Housemade Quandong Jam

For tomorrow only, we’re bringing something a little special out of the kitchen.

Freshly baked wattle seed scones — warm, nutty, and gently spiced — served with our housemade Quandong Strawberry & Wattleseed Conserve & La Casa Del Formaggio double cream.

Quandong, often called a native peach, brings a bright, tart sweetness that pairs beautifully with the richness of the scones… a balance that feels both comforting and uniquely Australian.

This is a labour of love for our team — the jam is made in-house using local fruit, and it’s not something we offer often.

A small way for us to celebrate native ingredients, shared through something simple, warm, and made to be enjoyed together.

This week, we celebrate and recognise the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

At Illalangi, we’re proud to weave native ingredients into our menu in a way that honours the richness and depth of these flavours. These are ingredients that have been used and respected for tens of thousands of years.

A hearty baked potato loaded with butter, cheese, Murray River salt and native mountain pepperberry, topped with slow-cooked lamb, caramelised wattle seed balsamic onions, peas, carrots and local corn. Finished with rich gravy and served with a side of roasted pumpkin.

Packed with local flavours and perfect for these cooler days, this is one special you won't want to miss.
