Last cake for 2020 🥳🎉

Merry Christmas 🎄🎅

The last of our Xmas cupcakes went out this morning and that's a wrap for 2020. We will be taking a much needed break from today until February 1st to spend time as a family and re-charge from the year that's been. Our fb presence during this time will be limited and any messages received during this time will be responded to when we return 😊

It's been so busy here that I've barely had time to sleep this past week! So, introducing the cake hack .....

It was my daughter's 10th birthday this week and I have been so flat out and feeling quite run down. Being the sweet kid she is, she told me she didn't need a birthday cake. But this mumma wasn't having a bar of that! So here is the compromise ... 5 x Woolworths choc mud cakes stacked and frosted with vanilla bean buttercream and quickly finished off with a choc ganache drip and all her favourite lollies. It wasn't the home-baked cake that I love to give my kids each year but she loved it all the same. And sometimes, it's more important to save our sanity 😉

What better way to say thank you than with cake?! ❤

Five years ago my husband and I embarked on our dream of being first home owners and built our own house. We began work on getting our landscaping done after moving in and unfortunately unbeknown to us, we hired someone very unethical who took thousands from us and delivered nothing. We had depleted our savings and had no backyard for our kids. Eventually we got our landscaping done after years of hard work and saving but we had nothing left at the end for fences. This is where our amazing neighbours stepped in! Together, we ordered the colourbond and each night after work and on the weekends they would head outside and dig through the hard clay and rock and set a few more posts in place. We now have an amazing backyard for our kids and they asked for nothing in return. Truly amazing humans who deserve the world of happiness. So I baked a cake 💕
