I’m honestly a bit speechless, but I have so much to say —
To the 300+ generous, loyal, noisy, wonderfully chatty humans who turned up last night — you made a difficult situation somehow beautiful. The laughter, banter and pure love you brought filled the room and will be remembered for years. None of us wanted this reason to come together, but the way you showed up for this local farmer and his young family from Violet Town proved once again what community really is.
This event didn’t happen because of any one person — it was made possible by so many generous donors, behind-the-scenes heroes, raffle buyers, and people who gave their time, money and hearts. Special thanks to the anonymous donor who contributed $5,000, everyone who supported the four-week raffle, and yes — my $220 contribution for a six-pack of hot cross buns (don’t ask, just accept my heroism). Together we raised over $60,000.
To the family: Reach out when things are tough. So many of this community and surrounds are in your corner ready to show support whenever you need it.
To my incredible team — you are amazing. This was a huge effort and I’m so grateful for each of you. ❤️👏
Our volunteer bus drivers - Hanna Dusink-Way & Peter Smith & Bill Webb xx thank you for getting everyone home safe. 🙏
From the bottom of my heart, thank you Violet Town. You showed up when it mattered most. Andrew Maffescioni Mark Pummeroy Tony Rawlins Bear Pummeroy
