While we’re not an exclusively Indian restaurant and our menu is inspired by a fusion of global cuisines, Indian flavors are truly at the heart of what we do at Nevedya. Our owners, husband and wife duo Daniel and Em Shakti, grew up immersed in Indian spiritual practices and yoga, where Indian food was always seen as “home food”—nourishing, comforting, and full of love. A small menu update from July 1st

As many of you will have heard, hospitality award wages are increasing by 4.75% from July. Our team are at the heart of what we do, and we support fair pay for the people who help bring Nevedya to life.

Alongside ongoing increases in ingredients, energy, insurance, council rates, land tax, interest costs and other operating expenses, this means we’ll be making a small adjustment to menu prices from July 1st.

This adjustment will help us continue sourcing the organic ingredients we believe in, supporting a caring and harmonious workplace for our team, and staying true to the values that have guided Nevedya from the beginning.

Like households across Australia, small restaurants are also feeling the impact of rising costs. Many of the same economic pressures affecting families are also affecting small hospitality businesses, often at the same time.

When we opened Nevedya eight years ago, we never imagined how dramatically the cost of running a small restaurant would change.

As a small independent, owner-operated restaurant, we’re experiencing many of these economic challenges firsthand. Unlike larger groups and chains, we have limited ability to absorb ongoing increases in costs, which means occasional menu adjustments are sometimes necessary to maintain quality, fair wages and the values that matter to us.

At Nevedya, we’ve always believed there should be something for many different occasions. Whether you’re gathering with friends over an indulgent tasting menu, enjoying a decadent weekend breakfast, or simply seeking a nourishing and affordable weekday lunch such as dal & rice or our Thursday khichadi special, we’re committed to making nourishing food accessible across a range of budgets and occasions.

We know no one enjoys paying more for things, and we never make these decisions lightly. Our aim is to keep Nevedya accessible while continuing to use high quality organic ingredients. To build a business that can sustainably support our staff, ourselves, suppliers and the community for many years to come.
