At EMP Supports, we are a local NDIS service provider, a team of about 40, currently serving the Illawarra, South Coast & Southern Highlands. We support people living with complex psychosocial needs, high-intensity support requirements, and life-limiting illness, often these people have been left at the edges of traditional systems of care.
This is meaningful, yet demanding work.

🌻 A realistic picture of the employment🌻
You may support people experiencing:
👉 Complex psychosocial disability and significant mental health needs
👉 High-intensity and challenging behaviours
👉 Alcohol and other drug (AOD) use and recovery
👉 Acute Homelessness or housing instability, including people living rough on-goingly.
👉 Justice system involvement, including people with prior convictions re-entering the community
👉 Child protection involvement (DCJ)
👉 Children and young people within NSW Out of Home Care (OOHC)
👉 Intergenerational trauma, grief, and loss
👉 Life-limiting illness, palliative care, and end-of-life transitions
🌻 The People we support may be fearful, guarded, dysregulated, grieving, or unwell — often with limited trust in systems. 🌻

🌻The role: what support looks like in practice 🌻
Support is delivered in homes, community settings, supported accommodation, often with people requiring consistency, calm presence, and emotional safety.
Support may include:
👉 Personal care and daily living support
👉 Emotional support, grief support, and distress regulation
👉 Supporting people during decline, uncertainty, or end-of-life
👉 Supporting routines that create stability and safety
👉 Community access, appointments, and service engagement
👉 Supporting re-entry into the community following custody or instability
👉 Working alongside families, carers, health professionals, and multidisciplinary teams
👉 Maintaining accurate documentation and following care plans, risk strategies, and advance care directives
🌻 Although we are a connected team, You will often work independently, guided by: 🌻
👉 Individual support plans and end-of-life directives
👉 Behaviour support and risk management plans
👉 Organisational policies and training
👉 Strong professional boundaries and reflective practice
🌻 This role requires: 🌻

👉 The ability to remain calm and present in complex situations
