🌻🌻 We’re Hiring 🌻🌻

Some of the most important work happens with people at their most vulnerable; through trauma, exclusion, illness, and at times, the end of life.

At EMP Supports, we are a local NDIS service provider, a team of about 40, currently serving the Illawarra, South Coast & Southern Highlands. We support people living with complex psychosocial needs, high-intensity support requirements, and life-limiting illness, often these people have been left at the edges of traditional systems of care.

This is meaningful, yet demanding work.

We are honest about that in right from the start of our recruitment process.

🌻🌻Current Employment Vacancies🌻 🌻

πŸ‘‰ Disabilty Support Worker - Complex Psychosocial, High-Intensity & Palliative Support.

Real people. Real complexity. Real responsibility.

πŸ‘‰ At EMP Supports, we don’t hire to fill shifts. We build teams capable of supporting people through trauma, instability, systemic disadvantage and sometimes their final chapter, with dignity, professionalism, and care.

πŸ‘‰ This role is not for everyone, and thats ok!

πŸ‘‰ But if you are emotionally grounded, values-driven, and able to hold steady in both crisis and quiet moments, this work can be deeply meaningful.

🌻 A realistic picture of the employment🌻

You may support people experiencing:
πŸ‘‰ Complex psychosocial disability and significant mental health needs
πŸ‘‰ High-intensity and challenging behaviours
πŸ‘‰ Alcohol and other drug (AOD) use and recovery
πŸ‘‰ Acute Homelessness or housing instability, including people living rough on-goingly.
πŸ‘‰ Justice system involvement, including people with prior convictions re-entering the community
πŸ‘‰ Child protection involvement (DCJ)
πŸ‘‰ Children and young people within NSW Out of Home Care (OOHC)
πŸ‘‰ Intergenerational trauma, grief, and loss
πŸ‘‰ Life-limiting illness, palliative care, and end-of-life transitions

🌻 The People we support may be fearful, guarded, dysregulated, grieving, or unwell β€” often with limited trust in systems. 🌻

🫢 Some days are confronting.
🫢 Some days are deeply human and still.
🫢 All days require presence, emotional regulation, and professionalism.

🌻 Our practice framework 🌻
All support at EMP Supports is grounded in:

πŸ‘‰ Trauma-informed care
πŸ‘‰ Person-centred and strengths-based practice
πŸ‘‰ Respect for dignity, autonomy, consent, and end-of-life wishes
πŸ‘‰ Clear boundaries, role clarity, and safety
πŸ‘‰ Cultural humility and respect for spiritual and personal beliefs

We believe dignity matters at every stage of life.

🌻The role: what support looks like in practice 🌻
Support is delivered in homes, community settings, supported accommodation, often with people requiring consistency, calm presence, and emotional safety.

Support may include:
πŸ‘‰ Personal care and daily living support
πŸ‘‰ Emotional support, grief support, and distress regulation
πŸ‘‰ Supporting people during decline, uncertainty, or end-of-life
πŸ‘‰ Supporting routines that create stability and safety
πŸ‘‰ Community access, appointments, and service engagement
πŸ‘‰ Supporting re-entry into the community following custody or instability
πŸ‘‰ Working alongside families, carers, health professionals, and multidisciplinary teams
πŸ‘‰ Maintaining accurate documentation and following care plans, risk strategies, and advance care directives

🌻 Although we are a connected team, You will often work independently, guided by: 🌻
πŸ‘‰ Individual support plans and end-of-life directives
πŸ‘‰ Behaviour support and risk management plans
πŸ‘‰ Organisational policies and training
πŸ‘‰ Strong professional boundaries and reflective practice

🌻 This role requires: 🌻
πŸ‘‰ Comfortable with illness, decline, and loss
πŸ‘‰ Emotional resilience and self-awareness
πŸ‘‰ The ability to remain calm and present in complex situations
πŸ‘‰ Deep respect for privacy, consent, and personal space
πŸ‘‰ An understanding that sometimes being there is the support

🌻 Who this role is suited to: 🌻

πŸ‘‰ People experienced or interested in complex psychosocial and palliative support
πŸ‘‰ People who stay grounded in high-emotion, high-intensity situations
πŸ‘‰ People who can follow structured plans while responding with humanity
πŸ‘‰ People who understand trauma, grief, and loss impact behaviour
πŸ‘‰ People who value supervision, reflection, and teamwork
πŸ‘‰ People who believe compassion and accountability go together
