Handmade, buttery caramel made with Papa Saya cultured butter and finished with 100% natural, Australian-made Olsson’s Sea Salt, harvested from the pristine waters of the Great Australian Bite, into a smooth Bon Bon – sweet, rounded and silky; the salt tying everything together.

4 Fun Facts you might not know about Bastion Lane:

1. Before Bastion roasted its first beans, Gary immersed himself in an apprenticeship in the coffee craft — learning the finer points of roasting, brewing and making a seriously great cup of coffee.

2. began with a conversation over coffee with local artist Susan Kinneally — who pointed out that the old Post Office was far too dark and pokey to show art. Challenge accepted. A redesign followed and a gallery was born. Susan is now the gallery’s curator.

3. Those beautiful hoop-pine benches and ironbark floors aren’t heritage-inspired — they’re original from the 1909 Uki Post Office.

4. Today, this building is a working Post Office, Coffee Roastery, Espresso Bar, Gallery, packing room, dispatch point — and home to Australia’s first Post-Office-based coffee roastery.

Not bad for an old country Post Office 😉
