Vale Vic Mallen
Seagulls pays tribute to club legend Vic Mallen, who made a lasting contribution to our community both on and off the field.
Vic joined Seagulls in early 1960 after transferring from arch-rivals Cudgen Leagues Club. He went on to become a key part of our history, playing in the historic Clayton Cup-winning team in 1963 and the A-Grade Premiership team in 1964 during our era at the Recreation Ground in Tweed Heads.
As the club expanded, Seagulls relocated to Gollan Drive, purchasing and transforming the iconic “Pub with No Beer” into new clubrooms and our dedicated home ground.
Vic continued to give back to the club through coaching: Coached the U16 and U18 teams from 1971 to 1976. Led his teams to more than their fair share of memorable victories.
Off the field, Vic was an inaugural member (Member No. 21) of the licensed club and served with distinction on the Board of Directors until 1985.
Vic’s legacy and dedication to Seagulls will always be remembered.
Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones.
