To our valued customers,
Tonight was an extremely busy service for us, with a large number of customers choosing Manta Ray on High. As a result, wait times were longer than usual, and we sincerely apologise to those who experienced delays.
Friday and Saturday nights are naturally our busiest takeaway nights. We work as quickly and efficiently as possible, but our kitchen can only move so fast while maintaining the quality you expect from us.
We believe we are possibly one of the only fish and chip shops in Toowoomba offering the convenience of online ordering, allowing customers to order ahead and select a collection time. This is something we offer to make ordering easier for our customers, not to have it become another source of pressure or abuse for our team.
Please understand that selecting a collection time does not mean your order will always be ready at that exact minute during exceptionally busy periods. All orders are prepared in the order they are received across in-store, phone and online platforms.
We completely understand that waiting can be frustrating. However, rude, aggressive or abusive behaviour towards our staff is absolutely unacceptable. Our team worked incredibly hard tonight under immense pressure, and they deserve to be treated with patience and respect.
We also need to be very clear: if this behaviour continues, we will have no choice but to reconsider offering phone and online ordering and may cease accepting both phone calls and online orders altogether. This would be incredibly disappointing, as the service is there for everyone’s convenience.
We are a family-owned local business doing our best to serve our community. We cannot control how busy a night becomes, but we can ask that our team be treated with basic courtesy and respect.
To the many customers who were patient, understanding and kind tonight, thank you. Your support means more than you know, and we are incredibly grateful to have you supporting our small business.
