🍦📚 BACK TO SCHOOL 📚🍦
What a pretty special day last week visiting Methodist Ladies’ College to speak with Business & Commerce students after Timboon Fine Ice Cream was recently featured as a real-life business case study for students.
Tim Marwood and Caroline Simmons shared the story behind the brand; from humble beginnings in regional Victoria to building a tourism and hospitality business centred around quality produce, community, creativity and, of course, plenty of ice cream along the way.
They spoke about everything from product development and marketing to risk-taking, regional business growth and what it really takes behind the scenes to turn an idea into a sustainable business.
Of course, no “Sundae School” session would be complete without actual ice cream… so afterwards students enjoyed a scoop in the sunshine from the Timboon Fine Ice Cream van parked right in the school grounds.
A huge thank you to the staff and students at MLC for the warm welcome, thoughtful questions and enthusiasm throughout the day. It was inspiring to see the next generation of young business minds already thinking creatively and entrepreneurially.
Regional business stories belong in classrooms too and it’s an honour to have a case study designed around something built up right here in Timboon.
