Hey guys, just letting you know that due to unforeseen circumstances we will not be opening tonight or tomorrow (thursday) at lunch time. Back on deck tomorrow night though.

With more setbacks and equipment failure than you can poke a stick at, we are super happy to be back up and running! We have secured another line of fresh seafood, giving us 2 deliveries a week now. This means we have decided to open on a Wednesday and Thursday as well. Our page has our updated hours.
We are also introducing our online ordering system starting this Wednesday.

This will give you a whole range of options and time frames to be able to work around lunch breaks without having to wait around. Pre-orders are highly recommended, especially on Friday and Saturday nights.

With catering being a side business of ours, we have 6 weddings booked between now and the end of the year, which will require us to close on a Friday or Saturday night. The dates will be listed on the page to give everyone plenty of notice.

Our business plan since day 1, was to be able to take advantage of the 2nd commercial kitchen that we have at the shop and being able to utilise this space to its full potential. We had the vision of creating a "Pop up" takeaway food outlet, where we will fill this space with different cuisines, changing every couple of months. Working alongside different "Foodies", we wanted to be able to bring different options to the dining scene in Tenterfield. By doing this, also allows us to share running expenses, create more employment opportunities and offer extended trading days. In return, this helps keep the food prices down, so as tough as things are at the moment, we believe everyone should be able to enjoy a takeaway meal without breaking the bank.

To kick off our 1st "Pop up" takeaway (Kicking off 25th August) we wanted to introduce you to the guys from "Tres Amigos". They let the quality produce and ingredients speak for themselves. They run with a small menu, but deliver big on flavour.
We will promote the menu's, opening hours and specials through our "Squid Ink" page.

After 3 weeks of waiting, we finally have the fridges and freezer up and running! A complete replacement job of the old units took place, which ended up taking a lot longer than anticipated. No fault of the tradespeople at all, just waiting on new compressors and parts were the hold-up. We will be kicking Off again next Friday (25th) from 12pm.
With the extensive shutdown, it has given us time to be able to release our "Stage 2" of the shop, months quicker than we anticipated. Stay tuned for the announcement tomorrow morning!

We regret to inform you that we will not be open this weekend due to mechanical breakdown of our fridge/freezer. We are currently waiting on tradesmen to turn up and fix the problem. We will keep you up to date on the situation.

As we approach our 1st month of officially opening our doors, we want to start by saying a huge thank you to everyone that has supported us so far.
As most of you know, With any new business, there will always be hiccups along the way. We continually strive to iron out our mistakes and constantly learn from them. We are still in the "Training stage" with staff and how things will be ran in the near future.
Over the coming weeks, we will be introducing phone orders/online ordering system, new theme days/nights starting the 1st of every month and added options on both the food and drinks menu.

If you have been into the shop, many of you would have noticed our bottle cap and poster advertising station. We strongly believe in supporting our local community, so we have come up with a way of giving a little something back to our local sporting and community teams. For every $20 spent, you will receive a bottlecap to put into your chosen team/group for that month. Each bottlecap represents $2 to that chosen group. We will update each month 2 different groups that will be sponsored. Comment below who you would like to see for the month of July.

As a lot of you are aware we run a catering business along side the fish shop. Squid ink will be open till 2:30pm today (16th) as we have a wedding catering gig at Glen Innes.
This occasion was booked 18months prior from the shop opening.

We currently don’t have enough man/woman power to run both venues.
We are continuing to employ more back up staff so this won’t happen again.

We will be running a “FAMILY MEAL DEAL” all day Saturday (17th) to make up for today’s early close time.

By priding ourself on using fresh seafood we will from time to time run out of stock before our stated opening hours. Due to a massive weekend this has happened will be closed by 3:30pm today.

IT'S OFFICIAL! Squid Ink Fish + Chippery will be opening this Friday 2nd June from 5pm. Make sure to head over to our page to keep up to date with our weekly specials and announcements.
Over the previous months, you would have noticed the changes that have been happening at the original "Tenterfield Fish and Chip" shop, 224 Rouse street. Our aim was to create a relaxed atmosphere with good vibes and a modern twist.
