Two great recent books . Both mention prescription drug harm (don’t worry that’s not spoiling the stories if you are planning on reading them).

But it got me thinking about a recent experience I had with alternative healing that I have posted about on my website www.eloiseemmett.com go to the news page. And how I hate the name alternative when some of these healing ideas have been around for 1000s of years. And how did w**e and alcohol somehow weasel its way into being wellness. like we’ve seen this week with the wellness hub planned for the north of the state ? When drinking alcohol is about the worst thing you can do for your health.

Preventative health is sleep, exercise and good food, if you are cooking your food from real ingredients you are already incorporating the variety of plants and good protein. But it seems it’s just access to medication that gets any funding.

I learnt a lot when researching for my lavender cookbook but I have so much more to learn.
If you’ve got any of your grandmas old remedies I would love to hear them. It’s sad to think they’ll all disappear one day , and be replaced by some tube of something chemical at the chemist .

Open for lunch and dinner today; lots of fresh fish. Take advantage of our $33 per person steamed parrot fish , or delicious local fish and chips or chowder. Try the parrot fish while we have them.
Cookbook sales, heat and eat meal sales, and we even have a chalet left tonight.

We will stop taking lunch orders at 1.30 today to prepare for another event. And open at 5pm for dinner
