1918 Bistro & Grill

1918 Bistro & Grill Rich in heritage with an abundance of culture and local produce, 1918 Bistro & Grill is a gathering place celebrating the Barossa Valley’s finest.

The 1918 family are passionate about serving the freshest, seasonally inspired local cuisine. This is complimented by a wine list featuring back vintages of some of the Barossa Valleys most remarkable family owned and produced wines. On frosty winter evenings red gum logs still splutter in the open fireplaces and in the summer, there's temptation to linger on the shady wisteria-scented veranda or under the giant Norfolk pine. What you'll also find is a youthful passion and buzz, modern Australian tastes and flavours and a genuine willingness to please. We hope you enjoy being part of the ongoing story of 1918.

Here’s one decision you don’t need to overthink this week.

SA barramundi, golden chips and a glass of Chardonnay for $35.

Our Spring Catch is available at lunch and dinner, so whether it’s a long-overdue catch-up or a very good reason not to cook, we’ve got your table waiting.

Book your table at 1918.

We’d understand if you went quiet for the first few mouthfuls.

Our new kangaroo special is served medium rare, with spiced yoghurt, heirloom carrots and rainbow beetroot. Rich, earthy flavours, a little spice and plenty of reasons to take your time.

Order a glass of Barossa red, settle in and let someone else do the cooking.

Book your table at 1918 Bistro & Grill.

The weekend forecast is looking absolutely glorious, which calls for one thing: cocktails in the garden.

Grab your friends, settle in for a long lunch and enjoy a very good meal with nowhere else you need to be. We’ll keep the cocktails coming, you just need to decide who’s joining you.

Book your table for lunch this weekend.

We get to call this our workplace. How lucky are we?

The weather is starting to come to the party, and our garden is looking like a very good place to spend a few hours.

Lunch in the fresh air, a glass of Barossa wine and your favourite people around the table. Maybe another course because you’re comfortable and nobody is in a hurry.

Even after all these years, we don’t take this beautiful little spot in the heart of Tanunda for granted. Sharing it with you is the best part.

Come and enjoy a little garden time with us. Book your table at 1918.

You know that moment after a brilliant show when nobody is quite ready to call it a night?

We’ve got a table for that.

On Saturday 19 September, the Australian String Quartet will be joined by singer Parvyn Kaur Singh and multi-instrumentalist Josh Bennett at Peter Lehmann Wines.

Expect an evening of beautiful strings, tango and Parvyn’s blend of Indian melodies, soul, jazz and pop. Something a little different for your Saturday night, in a pretty special Barossa setting.

Then join us at 1918 for a two-course dinner and a chance to talk about everything you’ve just heard.

The concert begins at 6pm, with dinner from 7.45pm. Your booking includes both your concert ticket and dinner, so that’s your Saturday evening sorted.

Make a date of it, invite your music-loving friends and give yourselves something lovely to look forward to.

The staff didn’t want us to share this after they got a taste. But we’re not going to gatekeep it from you.

Snapper in fennel and pistachio sauce, served with polpette di pane. That’s Italian bread balls, ready to soak up that sauce.

We can see why they wanted to keep it to themselves. A little selfish? Yes. Understandable? Also yes.

We’d pair it with a glass of Tomfoolery ‘Fox Whistle’ Pinot Gris. All that’s missing is you.

Consider this your gentle reminder that the Christmas party doesn't have to involve fluorescent lighting, supermarket platters, or someone left with the washing up.

Bring the team together around a table at 1918 instead. Good food, Barossa wine and enough room to properly celebrate everything you survived together this year.

Group bookings are now open.
