For over 65 years, Meals on Wheels has played a crucial role nationally in supporting the health and wellbeing of over 200,000 older Australians each year, across 592 service locations. Our purpose is to support well-nourished and independent communities through the delivery of a nutritious meal, social connection and a wellbeing check by our dedicated volunteer workforce.

We're excited to partner with Focus on Function to offer a dietitian referral service for Meals on Wheels clients who may need extra support with their meal choices.

This service is designed to help clients select Meals on Wheels menu options that align with their dietary needs, preferences, and nutrition goals. Working together, Michael (Head Chef), Chelsey (Dietitian at Focus On Function), and Jess from our administration team will help make the process as simple and seamless as possible.

🌟 Community starts with caring – and Holly and Elliot certainly did that! 🌟

Last week, we were lucky to welcome Holly and Elliot from Calrossy High School for their work experience at Tamworth Meals on Wheels.

They didn't just observe - they got hands-on, preparing a delicious pumpkin soup and fresh bread from scratch, helping package the meals, and then delivering them directly to our clients. Experiencing the full journey, from kitchen to doorstep, gave them a firsthand look at how every meal is made with care and how every delivery helps brighten someone's day.

It's incredibly encouraging to see young people so willing to get involved, learn new skills, and make a real difference in their community. The future of community spirit is looking bright!

Thank you, Holly and Elliot, for your enthusiasm, kindness, and hard work. We loved having you as part of the Tamworth Meals on Wheels team! 💙
