At Phở Hoa Lane Cove, this little Tết corner means more than decorations. It’s a piece of our past, carefully brought into the present — a space that holds the heart of Vietnamese tradition.

In Hà Nội, Tết wasn’t just a celebration. It was a transformation. The whole house would feel different — the scent of new incense, the fresh spring flowers, red envelopes tucked into áo dài sleeves, and the soft hum of family preparing bánh chưng, polishing altars, and welcoming ancestors back home.

Children waited patiently (or not!) for lì xì with wide eyes and hopeful hands. Parents hung up câu đối đỏ — red scrolls wishing for peace, prosperity, and harmony in the year to come. Every item had meaning. Every act was a wish.

Now, thousands of kilometres away from those early mornings in Hà Nội, we’ve recreated this small corner — not to show off, but to remember. To honour. To share.
